The accident (Chapter 13)

*Vanessa’s POV*

“Vanessa, I’m not going back”

Those words stuck me like a knife.

Liam isn’t going back? He must have a pretty damn good reason to be staying. His life is mainly back home. I guess his home is here too..

“Wh-what?” I stuttered out

I felt a lump in my throat.

“I can’t go back. It’s what I wanting to talk to you about today. I’m so sorry Vanessa”

By now the tears in my eyes were definitely visible. I have nobody when I get back. The only person who was ever there for me is matt, and he probably won’t give me the time of day. I know there was a chance Liam would forget about me and go back to his old ways with his old friends, but now I will never know.

Liam grabbed my hand.

“Let’s go for a walk so I can explain everything”

I nodded

“He’s been in the hospital ever since. And I can’t leave him until I know he’s healthy and able to get by on his own. I’m his son and I am the only person he has left.”

“Wow Liam. I’m so sorry for getting mad at you about not spending time with me. I would have done the same thing if I were you. Did you know you’re incredible?”

I can’t believe Liam’s father was in a car accident and his step mom died instantly. I thought to myself

“I try” He smiled slightly

“Do you know what the cause of the accident was?” I asked

“Drunk driver” he shook his head

“My grandparents were killed by a drunk driver. It’s pathetic how the drunk driver is the one who always survives perfectly.”

I wanted to cry just thinking of my grandparents but I knew I had to be strong for Liam. This is all so tough on him.

We walked in silence for the next couple minutes until I asked him the question that has been on my mind.

“How long until your father will be fully recovered?”

“Physically, in a month the doctors predict. But emotionally, I have no clue. My dad is the strongest person I know. If anybody could make it through this, it’s him.”

It’s going to be months before I see Liam again? Great. He will probably forget everything between us by then.  It could take longer or shorter though. You can never be 100% sure how the recovery will go. I’m praying that everything will go well I need Liam in my life.

“The recovery is going well so far. If things keep going this way he could be back to his normal self sooner” Liam spoke as if he was reading my thoughts

“I really hope he’s okay Li. I don’t want you coming back until he is one 110% ok to be on his own, alright?”

Liam nodded

Up ahead in the distance I saw Niall with a group of people. He had girls all around him and there was one girl that was all over him.

Figures. He must be the player around here who gets every girl.

I cant be to quick to judge because I thought Liam was like that, and it turned out he was the complete oposite.

I looked at Liam and smiled. I could never wipe this smile off my face when I'm with him.

He was looking out admiring the water like i usually do. We were getting closer to this group ahead of us and i did not want to talk to Niall right now.

“You should probably get back to your father right now and not waste time with me”

He turned his gaze from the water to me and stopped walking.

“You’re right, I should get back to him…But you’re coming with me”

“What?! He won’t want to see me”

“Yes he will. Seeing me happy makes him happy. Anyways I told him about you and he wants to meet you!” He said enthusiastically

“Dad, this is Vanessa. Vanessa this is my Dad”

He held out his hand and I shook it.

He had cuts scrapes and bruises everywhere and his left arm was in a cast. He looked very tired and he was lying down in the hospital bed.

“It’s nice to meet you” I said and smiled

“You too. You’re way prettier than Liam described you”

“Thank you” I Blushed

Liam talks about me? And he said I'm pretty? oh my god yay! I mentally gushed.

“I’m going to go grab us some food Vanessa... do you want anything dad?”

He shook his head.

“Be back soon” Liam walked out of the room.

Well this will be awkward…

“You know Liam likes you a lot more than he leads on. He always talks about you and he has the biggest smile on his face just from the mention of your name” His father informed me

“You have a special son” I couldn’t wipe the grin off of my face. Liam really does like me.

“I also want to tell you I told Liam he can go back home, to be with you and his mother of course. He insisted on staying with me and that if you were really the girl for him you would understand. I really hope your there waiting for him the day he goes back”

“I will be counting down the days till he comes back. And I promise you sir, I’ll be there waiting.”

*Niall's POV*

“AMY COULD YOU SERIOUSLY STOP. I DON’T KNOW IF YOU REALLIZED THAT I DON’T HAVE FEELINGS FOR YOU ANYMORE. BROKEN UP MEANS BROKEN UP. I’M DONE WITH YOU, STAY AWAY FROM ME!”

I stormed away.

I never snap at anybody like that but this girl has seriously gotten on my last nerve. I put up with her all night when I agreed to meet up with her and a group of her friends. I really thought she was over me and just wanted to be friends.

She was all over me the whole time. I could deal with her flirting with me. But when she pinned me to the ground and started making out with me and eating my fucking face off, I lost it.

Psycho bitch.

I really just want to talk to Vanessa about all this.

It’s not like I can talk to her. She’s off with the guy she’s practically in love with probably having a great time.

From what it seems like he’s such an asshole lately. And he better have a damn good reason for treating her this way.
