I might do some actual sketches to go with this song tonight but,, we'll have to see
I have student led conferences tonight and I have homework in a few classes so we'll see what I can do
If not I'll probably come back to this eventually anyway because I've been listening to this song on loop all day and I can't stop seeing it as Just calming Chase down.
Plus it might give me a chance to finally draw the bullies in WTLH since I still haven't put appearances to any of those characters.

I didn't use a reference for the beanie in the second picture and I totally rushed the coloring of his hoodies so
aND a quick little explanation of the meaning of him crying with his red hoodie!!
In the AU this animatic would take place in, Chase befriends the popular kids when he arrives rather than joining Just's friend group, but he and Just still develop a close friendship
I feel like when he joined the popular group, they would subtly jab at his clothing style ("Ratty hoodies and sweatpants...?") so eventually they get him some more expensive and higher-class clothes, but that red hoodie is HIS. His mom got that for him, and she doesn't get him gifts a lot since they can't really afford it, and he's had that hoodie for a few years now. Throwing away that hoodie is like he's truly thrown away his old life, so he keeps it, just to cling to that sense of security after he's sick of hanging out with the people that treat other kids like they don't belong.
A scene of this just keeps like rEPLAYING in my head so I'll share that real quick
Just saying softly, "Just open up and sing; "I'm vulnerable, I'm vulnerable, I am not a robot."
And Chase whispers it with him. Just brings his hand up to rest on Chase's cheek, and he slowly leans into it, watching him with careful eyes.
Then Just takes Chase's head in both of his hands and whispers, "You're loveable. So loveable."
