Lillie's POV:
I walked to manhole cover in the alley with a plastic bag filled with a dozen cookies, Raph was there when I arrived. He smiled up at me and I climbed down, the sewer seemed more cramped then last time.
My breathing escalated, eyes darted for a away out, I dug my nails into my forearm, my grip on the cookie bag was of steel. "It's okay, we are almost there." Raph says dislodging my hand from my arm in order to hold my hand.
We finally made it to the lair, I breathed a sigh of relief. "Hey, Lils!" Mikey exclaimed running towards me and giving me a big hug, I tensed unless you were family or close friends (or a boyfriend) then you didn't need to be touching me.
Mikey finally put me down and I took a few steps back. "Are those cookies for us?" Mikey asked with big doe eyes, "yep," I say and hand over the bag.
"Hold up, you give those to Mikey the rest of us will never see them." Leo states snatching the bag from Mikey after he had grabbed three. "Thanks Lillie." He says to me, I'm not too sure what to do so I just shrug.
"Raph, Splinter wanted to talk to you." Leo says, Raph rolling his eyes he looked at me with concern. "Please, I'll be fine, go on." I say and shove him, "okay, I'm going."
"What kind of cookies are these?" Leo asks, "oh, oatmeal, chocolate, walnut." I say, "they take hours to make and they make eight batches."
"Hmm. They're good, thanks." He then walks off to some mysterious place.
I shift and look around uncomfortably. I had always been polite when it came to other people's homes (or cars). Back home this one lady would give me a ride every now and then if I needed to get to school early, had for years and I still waited until she got out and said I could go in her car no matter how cold it was.
I saw a light in another room and herd some noise, it was probably the other brother, his name was...Donnie. That's it. I grab two cookies from where Leo had hid them in an underneath cabinet. Making my way to the room, I had sure to knock before, Donnie was there hunched over some project.
He looks up, "thought it was odd someone knocked, my brothers never knock." He puts down some tool and I walk over handing him the cookies. "Oo, thanks." He takes them and places them in the corner of the table.
"What're working on?" I ask walking towards a board of equations. "Well I'm trying to find a way to highten security by making them more sensitive and smaller." I could see the excitement in his eyes, which slowly dims, "but you probably don't want to listen to me talk about it."
"No it's fascinating, I mean I don't understand a lot of engineering but I understand math most of the time." I look closer at his equation. "Did you know your math is wrong?" I say looking back at him. "What? I was quite sure that I-" he walks over to me.
"Well, two negatives equal a positive," I point to one of the first equations, "therefore the rest is incorrect because the main equation is not right." I say grabbing a marker I make the corrections, after about five minutes, I look up, Raph had walked into the room and both their jaws had hit the floor.
"So, um that will give you the dimensions for the cameras." I say shifting uncomfortably. "Wow, would you be able to check my other equations?" Donnie asks, "yeah I guess, that's okay, it won't take long." I look at Raph, "um, sure, I'll just." He leaves to wherever, Donnie points me to a few more boards. I slowly make my way through them.
"So Lillie where are you from, your accent is different." Don asks after a while, "yeah I moved from Minnesota almost a year ago." I say not looking up.
"Shouldn't you have acquainted a New York accent?"
"Not all people can pick up an accent."
"What's your best subject in school?"
"Probably geography and social studies." I say. "So I'm guessing, science and technology is more your speed."
"Yeah." He says.
I finish the last equation, "Well I finished." I say placing the cap on the marker. "Okay, thanks, it's a big help having a second opinion."
"Yeah no problem, anytime." I say and make my way out of the lab.
I find Raph in a room with mats and a punching bag that he was going to town on. "Yeah." I say giving him hug from behind.
"You done with the math stuff?" He asks, "yep," I say popping the "p".
"Want to go for a walk up top? It's dark." I glance at the time, see enough it was seven.
"Sure, drop me off then, I'll let my parents know I'm making my way home." I quick send a text then follow Raph out of the lair.
