Raph's POV:
I had never ran so fast in my life. I could still hear Lillie's shallow breathing so I knew she was alive, for now.
"Stay with me babe, please!"
I burst into the lair, "Donnie!" I shout.
"What's up Raph?" Leo came in, seeing Lillie he immediately helps me clean off D's work table.
"What are you guys doing?!" Donnie comes in, his eyes land on Lillie bleeding out on his table, understanding fills his eyes.
"I need everyone out now!" He yells, I glare daggers into his face. "Raph if you want her to live you have to give me some space!" He yells serializing some tools.
"Fine!" I snap back, kissing Lillie's forehead I march out of the lab.
Once out I collapse to the floor and burry my face in my knees as I brought them to my chest. Tears of anger and worry flow from my eyes, I feel my body shake with sobs.
"What happened, Raph?" Leo asks sternly. I don't respond, I didn't want to talk him, or anybody, just Lillie.
It was my fault, why didn't I tell her to run? Why did she stay? Why couldn't I stop that blow? Questions swarmed me and I continued to let go.
Hours later, Donnie finally comes out, I scramble to my feet.
"She's stable for now." He says, holding the door open for me to go in. The smell of sterilization filled my nose, it wreaked in here.
Lillie was on the table, wires coming from her arms, she was ghostly pale and her hair was spread around her as if she was floating.
I pull a chair up next to her and place my hand over her cold one.
"I'm sorry. It's my fault." I say to her, tears coming from my eyes again.
"I should have stopped you, or something." I place my head down next to her side.
I began to fall asleep in the chair to the sound of my own choked sobs and her steady breathing.
I woke up, picking up my sleep soar head, I look up to see the empty table. Panic grasps me by the chest and I launch myself out of the lab.
I see Lillie in the kitchen trying to get herself a drink of water.
"What do you think your doing?" I exclaim quickly taking the cup from her and carefully gathering her in my arms.
"I can get myself some water, Raph." She sounds annoyed.
"You almost died, you're staying in bed until Donnie says your fine." I say sternly, placing some more sheets over the table, with pillow, I set her down aware of her head and stomach.
I cover her with a blanket and jog to grab her water.
"I don't want you don't things for me." She says, pouting.
I roll my eyes, handing her her water. She quickly downs it and sets the glass next to her.
"I'm going to grab Donnie," I say turning to leave, "don't move." I demand over my shoulder.
A few minutes later I come back with D, "how you feeling?" He asks.
"I'm fine." She says, moving to get up, I quickly move to put a firm hand on her shoulder. She slumps back down, grimacing in pain as she does.
Donnie checks her eyes, ears, blood pressure and, heart. "Okay, I'm going to change your bandages, Raph." He motions for me to leave, I blush and turn to go though I'm angry about Donnie touching Lillie like that.
I find myself outside the lab again, this time a scowl on my face.
"You going to say what happened?" Leo comes up, arms crossed.
"It doesn't matter, all that matters s'that she's okay." I reply.
"No Raph, Lillie, almost died and I want to know why!"
"I know she almost died! Those were the most terrifying hours of my life! You'll never understand the horror I just went through!"
Leo looks taken aback, "fine Raph, whatever." He says walking away.
Donnie is finally done and I go back in.
"How's life?" She asks, humor in her eyes. I chuckle.
"Well, my girlfriend almost died, and I spent the night in a spinning chair. How about you."
"Ya know almost died, ruined one of my favorite shirts."
I kiss her, carefully, not wanted to bump anything. When we finally break, she leans her forehead against mine.
"Oh, crap!" She exclaims, "you've got my phone?"
I grab it from where I put it last night. "I've got to let my parents know that'll be late coming home."
After shooting a text she places her phone down and exhales.
"My parents can't find out about this."
I only nod,
"how much longer until I can go home?"
"I don't know."
Donnie comes in and checks the bag her wires are connected to.
"How much longer until I can go home?" She asks.
He pauses, thinking, "depending how today goes maybe tonight, if you promise to be careful, and change your bandages. Maybe stay home from school for a day or two."
Lillie nods, "if my parents find out-" shaking her head.
"It'll be fine." I say. "Just fine."
