The next day the whole of Vongola Mansion was abuzz with activity. Preparations were being made left and right for the arrival of the kids. The Guardians had planned a little welcoming party for them and were now checking up on any last minute details; except Alaude, that is. The skylark was in Primo's office making sure that the Sky Guardian finishes all his paperwork. As for the mastermind behind this marvellous plan, the one and only Gio-"G!!!!!!"(Never mind). The redhead immediately rushed to the office hearing the call. He fully expected to find his boss and the icy blond locked in a heated battle with a terrifying foe. Instead he found Alaude calmly sipping his coffee and Giotto pulling at his hair in frustration. "WHY DO I HAVE TO DO THIS?!?! I HATE PAPERWORK!! G!!" At that last sentence the spiky blond threw himself at his right-hand man who sweatdropped. "Gio...tto?" The Sky had wrapped his hands around the tattooed man's waist and was kneeling while wailing. "I don't want to do this! I want to go out and have fun! I want to eat strawberry cake! I WANT TO GET OUT OF THIS HELL!!"
G looked on in amusement as his usually calm and collected boss reverted to his 'normal' mode. Most of the time Giotto had a responsible mask on but here, in the privacy of his office he acted like a small child. The Storm chuckled making the blond at his waist look up, his puppy-dog eyes in full force. G tried to resist, he really did, but what was he against the power that even made the Vindice soften a bit. He simple sighed and patting his Sky's head said, "Fine, go out and check on the preparations. The kids will be arriving soon." No sooner had the words left his mouth and Giotto was gone in a flash. The redhead turned his attention to the skylark who had fallen asleep sometime during this whole exchange. The tattooed man sweatdropped and went to his boss.
A few hours later, the bell rung, and all the residents gathered at the entrance hall to welcome their new companions. The door was opened and in stepped Stella with her horde of children. Although calling them a 'horde' would be wrong; they were as polite and well-behaved as anyone and the staff was all charmed by their manners.
"Buonasera, Primo." Stella called out in greeting which Primo returned. After a few words were exchanged between the First generation and the Light-flame user, the latter looked around seemingly nonchalant. "Say, where is that anti-social man?" the guardians suppressed smiles as a figure moved behind Stella and whispered in her ear, "That's quite rude, Mon Cher." The girl jumped and turned around, sporting a dark blush. "S-s-signor, don't do that!" Alaude chuckled and patted her head. A warm tingly feeling sensation spread through her. "I apologize."
Still blushing madly, she nodded and he went to join the others in greeting the children. The First Generation Vongola Famiglia stood together, a beacon of light in the dark world of mafia. Stella didn't need her clairvoyant skills to know that they will be a great family someday. And as she watched each one of them come up and welcome the kids, she amended, 'They are already a great family.'
Smiling widely she followed the residents to what looked to be a ballroom. Couches and chairs had been placed to accommodate all the orphans and they immediately claimed their own. The Guardians were all divided up between the groups and Stella mused that it was the exact scene as that of La Casa Orfana. Thinking of her old home brought a pang of sadness in her heart. Even though they had faced several hardships it was still home, the first some of them had ever known. It had been her sanctuary and now it was all gone...
