A/N: Here we go! The last chapter of this book. Yay! Thank you to all my readers for their wonderful comments and to all who read and voted on this story. You guys mean the world to me. I waited for a while before posting this as tomorrow is my birthday and I wanted to do something special for you guys. I will not be posting any long-term story for a while because school sucks. Rest assured I shall continue posting oneshots or short stories. This Epilogue is basically a look into the life of First Gen during the events of the manga and their view on the Tenth Gen Guardians. Yes, Allaula is married in this one.
Disclaimer: You know what, I am not doing this. Deal with it.
"Don't be afraid. Roll, needle form."
Stella smiled as she and the Guardians watched Hibari Kyoya defeat Adelheid with the help of the small hedgehog.
All of them were currently in the Ring Space, watching the fight between Vongola and Shimon play out. It hurt her heart to watch their descendants fight with Cozart's but such was fate. Beside her Alaude smirked as he saw his Tenth Generation counterpart defeat the busty Glacier Guardian using his head as well as strength.
"He really resembles you." Stella commented and laughed when her lover scoffed at her.
"He is too immature and too impatient to be anywhere close to me."
"Are you implying that you were never impatient or immature? I have two words for you Mr Handcuffed-a-person-because-they-seemed-suspicious: our wedding." The blond rolled his eyes.
"Is a man not supposed be excited for his own wedding now Stella?" She huffed at him.
"You didn't even let the priest finish before dragging me away for the honeymoon."
The Cloud shrugged. "He was taking too long. Besides," he shot her a wolfish grin, "we got to have our fun early because of that."
Even after several centuries, Stella still blushed when she remembered their wedding night. It had been a good thing Giotto had given them a few days off after that; she had needed them to recover.
The sound of someone derisively clearing their throat had the couple paying attention to the screen. Stella gasped when she saw the hazel-eyed Rain Guardian who, by all logic should have been in a hospital, standing there looking completely healthy. He activated his Vongola gear and the Light-Flame user could practically feel Asari's pride as the musician's eyes shone while his counterpart expertly defended himself. Ugetsu was genuinely fond of Takeshi, and he was not the only First Generation Guardian to be so.
Knuckle was pretty partial to Ryohei, and though Lampo claimed otherwise, everyone could see the affection he held for the cow-child. G was not really happy with the Tenth Storm Guardian but did respect the quarter Italian's dedication to his boss and the Famiglia. Alaude pretended to abhor Kyoya but deep down-very deep down- he did care about an inch for the Disciplinary Committee Chairman. Giotto's affection for Tsunayoshi was common knowledge; the man adored the brunet as much he had adored his own children.
Stella's musings were cut off when a very familiar figure appeared on the screen.
"Daemon..." his name came out in a whisper and the mood plummeted from jovial to despairing. The all observed with bated breath as the events unfolded and daemon was revealed the culprit.
Hope ignited in them when they saw the two young Decimos team up to defeat the illusionist, but it was dashed as Daemon reappeared, possessing the body of Rokudo Mukuro.
By then Stella was sobbing, supported by a grim-faced skylark. The others watched plagued by the images of a similar Stella in a time of long past; when Elena had been murdered.
A broken Stella, weeping for days, as she mourned the loss of a sister, considering it her fault that the blonde had been killed. She had gone to check on the kids when the mansion had been attacked and that had brought about her best friend's demise. Daemon's broken screams echoing through the mansion when he found the corpse of his beloved. That had been a dark period for the First Generation. The illusionist had become so lifeless that Giotto had been tempted to relieve him of his duty as a Mist. But whenever he brought up his concern the indigo-haired man waved it away.
"Elena wanted me to stay with the Vongola," he would say and then float away like a listless ghost. Alaude had spent most of his time comforting and consoling her and it was a long time before Stella could look the Mist Guardian in the eye. The whole Famiglia had felt the gaping hole Elena had left behind, which could be filled by none.
Now, the seven of them watched, horrified, as their comrade turned into a monster before their very eyes. Knuckle had his hands clasped in prayer, Asari looked pained, and Lampo had refused to watch the scene. G's mouth was set in a frown as regret bloomed in his eyes. Giotto had fallen to his knees, tears pouring out of his cerulean orbs. Alaude pushed back his own grief as he held a crying Stella.
They watched as one of their Family gave up his humanity right in front of them. They watched still as Tsunayoshi put an end to Daemon's misery. They breathed a sigh of relief when the illusionist finally accepted death.
Stella called on her powers, her body glowing as she found the Mist and called him to the Vongola Rings. His spirit conceded, and in the first time in centuries Daemon Spade found himself surrounded by his Famiglia.
"Primo..." Daemon's eyes widened as he looked at the young Guardians, he, himself, resembling his twenty-five year old self. Later he found out that it was Stella who had made it such that the Guardians looked in their prime after death.
The Mist Guardian glance around taking in the expecting looks of his fellow Vongola. Suddenly a Mist Flame appeared and out stepped his lover, looking as beautiful as the day she had died. She smiled at him and Daemon felt himself relax. Smiling he took a step forward but was blocked by a baton to the chest,
"Take one step forward and I'll pulverize you." Stella growled and the illusionist looked at her in confusion. Elena giggled and Daemon paled at the sound, that specific laugh never bode well for him and he could only pray silently for mercy.
"See, mi amor, what you have been doing was really sweet but the part, where you basically destroyed what we had worked so hard for, was really idiotic. I waited for you so many years but you never came. So forgive me but I'm a little upset with you at the moment. Giotto," the Sky had a bone-chilling loom in his eyes, "you have my permission to do anything to him.
The last thing Daemon saw before his end was the predatory looks of his Famiglia as they surrounded him and for the first time ever, Daemon Spade was a prey.
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO
"Ouch!" the melon hissed as Elena fussed over his cuts, though they would heal on their own, and glared his fellow Guardians. "You barbarians could have gone a little easy on me."
"You deserved it, melon head." Everyone nodded in agreement to the Cloud. The indigo-haired man turned to the Light Flame user.
"And you, mind explaining what this place is?" Stella sighed.
"It's like a different dimension which exists inside the Vongola Rings. I created the space adding to the already Space-Time Axis factor of Vongola. The First Gen is the only one who can meet like this, though. The others can only stay inside their respective Element Rings. An essence of our soul resides in the Rings; this is just the physical manifestation of that."
The following tense silence was broken as the Rain Guardian started chuckling while the others looked at him, bewildered.
"I apologise, but this just feels so nice, the Family all together." Giotto, too, started giggling as he took in the absurdness of the situation. Soon, everyone, sans a smirking Alaude and a dumbfounded Daemon were laughing, prompting the latter to shake his head.
'Giviro Eterna Amicizia, indeed.'
Crazy idiots.
Yes, the ending sucked. If you have any questions regarding the Ring Space feel free to message me, I'll be happy to explain.
Au revoir!
