21. "You're an exception"

I woke up this morning feeling excited. At first I forgot what I was so excited about but then I remembered. I'm going to Pattie's birthday party tonight. I'm excited that Justin asked me to go. I asked my mom when I got home yesterday if I could go and she asked who Justin was along with other questions like if I liked him and how old he was. I denied the liking but I answered everything else and she agreed to let me go.

School was good today, Justin didn't ignore me. Chris and I had turned in our project yesterday right after class so I didn't talk to him as much. I spoke to Callie most of the time because she was giving me gossip and she was telling me how Ethan told Sarah that Justin was nervous about tonight although he didn't want to admit it, Sarah of course told Callie when Ethan told her because she was excited. I think they might be more excited than me.

Lunch was fine as well, we all ate together while Justin and I made small talk. We talked about different things to get to know each other a little better but that was all. After school I went to the mall with my mom because she told me that I couldn't attend Pattie's party without a gift so we both went to buy her a nice shirt and necklace.

I'm already dressed for Pattie's party. I'm wearing a black short skirt with a white lace crop top and some wedges. I'm currently waiting in my living room for Justin to pick me up because although he was already at his house, he insisted on driving me since I'm his date for his mom's party and all.

"Come outside" Was the text that I had just received. I'm guessing that's Justin? I never gave him my number nor did I have his until now but he could have asked someone for it.

I look out the window and see Justin's car with Justin inside as I take a glance at what he's wearing. Damn he looks hot but when doesn't he?

"Mom I'm leaving now!" I yell to make my mom know that I'm going to leave. I hear heavy footsteps and then I see her approaching with a big smile on her face. She passes by me and looks out the window. Oh god.

"Wow!" She exclaims.

"What?" I ask her.

"He's good looking! I would say that I approve although I don't approve if he doesn't treat you right." She tells me.

I blush at her words. Eh he can be rude but he can also be nice when he wants to be. "Yeah mom."

"I have to go" I tell her and start to walk towards the door just so that she won't ask me anymore questions.

Once I'm near Justin's car, I see him getting out of the car and walking towards the passenger door.

He swings it open and waits for me to walk closer to him.

"Wow, what a gentlemen." I compliment him as I take my seat on the passenger seat and he closes the door right after.

He climbs in through his side and starts to speed away from my house.

"You look amazing," he tells me once we've reached a stop light. He hasn't been very chatty, he's been acting... Normal?

"Thanks, so do you." I respond with a grin on my face.

"What?" He asks once the red light turns green and he continues to drive.

"Nothing. It's just that you're being nice." I say.

"Is that a bad thing?" He asks.

"Nope not at all but I thought you said that you were anything but nice?" I tell him, bringing back the previous words that he once mentioned.

"You're an exception." He responds as I try to hide the smile that is now starting to form on my lips. My heart is rapidly beating and I don't think I could handle this for much longer. Satisfied by his own response, he smirks while he places his hand on my thigh, making goosebumps arise on my skin.

I know I said I wasn't going to update this week but I'm going to be more busy next week so I decided to update this week instead.
