Tatum POV
My eyes fluttered open finding the ceiling above my head the bed next to me cold and unslept in just the same as it had been the past three months. Harry was in a coma. Every day he was asleep lessened the chance of my husband coming home to me, my children getting to meet their father. I was 8 months pregnant, the closer my due date got the more I worried. My heart ached and tears stung my eyes just like every morning and I drug myself out of bed and forced myself through the day without him. I missed the sound of him making breakfast and singing to at the top of his lungs while he cleaned. I shuffled my feet grabbing my bag from the chair next to the door wobbling down the stairs and out the door to the car. I operated on auto pilot now, get up go see harry go home. A constant routine, a circle that was never ending. The hospital’s looming presence was always a shadow on my life, darkening every day, making the never ending cycle seem infinitely darker as the time passed. I climbed from the car wobbling on my feet as I settled on the asphalt. Yanking my bag from the backseat I waddled through the front doors taking the elevator up to the ICU floor. Passing by the nurses station I entered Harry’s room settling next to the bed looking up to stare at my husband’s face jumping when I realize that I wasn’t looking at the beautiful curly haired man I loved. A young girl laid in the bed her eyes closed blonde hair plastered to her head as the machines surrounding her kept her breathing. I jumped up rushing out to the nurses station as fast as I could.
“Excuse me, where’s my husband?” I squeak tears filling my eyes, no no no he can’t be dead he can’t be they would’ve called me. Wouldn’t they? My breathing sped up and she jumped up rushing around the counter to grip my shoulders.
“Mrs. Styles calm down, they just moved him to another floor. He’s totally fine honey.” I nod trying to calm my breathing.
“Why-why did they move him?”
“Honey he woke up last night, didn’t anyone call you?”
“No, no they didn’t.” My eyes widened as I stared at her. Harry. Harry was awake. “Where is he?! Where is Harry!”
“Room 2035 on the second floor,” She said and I tore myself away from her and rush towards the elevator pressing the button over and over. I punched the second floor button and bounced on my feet running my hand over my stomach anxiously. When the doors slid open I rushed out and down the hall searching for his room. I spotted room 2035 at the end of the hall and moved as quickly as I can. I shove the door open making it slam against the wall causing the nurse in the room to shriek slapping a hand over her heart. Harry’s eyes are wide as he stares at me taking in my large belly and tear stained cheeks. I stared at him taking in his flushed cheeks and emerald eyes his curls sticking out around his head.
“Ma’am you can’t be in here! This is a private room!” She snapped and I glared at her. Harry turned to look at her angrily.
“Don’t speak to my wife that way.” He snapped scooting up in the bed and she flushed hurrying out of the room. I rushed forward taking Harry’s face between my hands pressing my lips to his, he wrapped his arms around my waist holding me close. I released his lips leaning my forehead against his staring into his green eyes smiling tears streaming down my cheeks again.
“Harry I missed you so much, you’ve been gone three months. Three months Harry. My life has been hell.” I whimpered and he sighed, his warm breath fanned across my face gently.
“Tatum I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry I left you.” He whispered.
“Harry do you know when they’re letting you leave? There’s a month and a half until tour starts. Management has been making the boys rehearse without you. They were livid about it.” I whispered and he chuckles. “They’re at rehearsals right now.”
