Axel's PoV
I winced when the doctor jabbed the needle into my arm. "It's okay Axel." he said, patting my arm. I frowned. "A wolf bit him doc!" Jesse said incredulously. "Yes, this is just a rabies shot. I'll have to take an X-Ray of your arm later." the doctor stood up.
I sighed and looked around. "She's not here." Jesse said, leaning against the chair I was sitting on. I looked at him, confused. "Olivia." Jesse said. I blushed. "What do you mean?" Jesse grinned and handed me a cup of water.
I took it as Jesse ran a hand through his hair. "Apparently... do you really want me to tell you? It was kinda funny." he said. I nodded, wondering what happened. "So, you were out cold, and like, Olivia figured a kiss would wake you up-." I spat out my water as Jesse burst out laughing.
"Just kidding." he poked my good arm. "All she did was to slap you really hard when the doctor said you'd love and she told me she couldn't be here because her dad was calling." Jesse leaned against the chair and I sighed with relief. "Thank God, Jesse. You almost gave me a freaking heart attack." I said, rubbing my arm.
"Oh and she left these for us. Christmas presents." Jesse handed me a big box. "Christmas? But Christmas isn't even close!" I said, dumbfounded. The brunette nodded. "I was confused too. But maybe she has a plan; I don't know anything." Jesse added, as I looked at him pleadingly.
The doctor reentered the room, holding files and a random pink pen. Alright. Jesse, sir, can you wait outside? We have to take his X-ray now." the doctor asked. Jesse laughed, "I think that's the first time anyone called me a sir." he was saying as he left the room.
The doctor smiled a little, his green eyes looking back at me. "Okay, Axel, lets take that X-ray now. Soon you'll be free to go." I nodded, somehow... his voice reminded me of Jesse's.

"So you do have a crush on Olivia!" Jesse grinned as he hopped to school, like his usual self, before the disease struck him. I blushed, "Not so loud, dummy!" Jesse smiled and opened his mouth as if to shout it out.
"What are you boys doing now?" a familiar voice asked. I turned to see Olivia, with her hair down and in a pink dress. "Where are you going?" I asked curiously. Olivia blushed. "I just wanted to... I don't know." Jesse grinned at me and I glared at him. "Not a word."
Olivia smirked and walked beside Jesse and I. "So where are we going?" she asked. "The woods. We're almost done with the house." Jesse said, pointing to the path to the woods. "Okay. I want to finish it before-."
She cut off, making Jesse and I look at each other. "Be-." Jesse started to say when I nudged him. "Lets just get to that treehouse."

"And... there!" Jesse did the honours of knocking the last nail into the final board. Olivia and I cheered as Jesse climbed down the tree. "We still need something.." Olivia mused, looking at the tree. She went over to the discarded planks of wood and seemed to be looking for a particular piece.
Jesse looked at me and playfully wiggles his eyebrows. "Don't- what are you doing?" I laughed, pushing him away as Olivia pulled out some rope. "We have to make a swing, of course. One last project. For the treehouse." she added quickly.
Again, Jesse glanced at me, his green eyes seeming to piece together something that I couldn't piece. Carefully, we made the swing. Olivia climbed onto the broadest branch the tree had and tied the swing tightly. "Do you think it'll hold?" she called as I pushed the swing a little.
"Axel why don't you try?" Jesse asked as Olivia climbed down the tree. "Hey! Is it because I'm fat?" I asked in a teasing way, making Olivia laugh. "No. You're just muscular." Jesse said straightforwardly, making me roll my eyes. Obviously, he was trying to get Olivia and I together. I glanced at Olivia, who was petting Reuben.
"Okay then. If this breaks, our workmanship sucks." I said, sitting on the board. "After we built that treehouse, I'd say that our workmanship is great." Jesse said as I swung a little on the swing. "Not bad!" Olivia called as I swung higher.
"WHOO HOO!" I cheered as Reuben barked excitedly. "WAIT! AXEL your-." I hit my head on the branch above me. "AHH!" I lost my grip and fell to the ground, landing hard on the soft dirt and the grass.
"Oh man Axel. Nice buttprint." Jesse burst out laughing so hard. Olivia did the same as I rubbed my head. Soon, I started to smile and then I found myself laughing as well. The tree of us together under the newly completed treehouse.
