Axel's POV
Jesse seemed a little paranoid. "Uh, Jesse," I said, holding up the board he told me to hold. "Gimme a sec." Jesse replied as a hammer flew out of the treehouse and nearly hit my foot. I looked down at it. Okay.?
I watched skeptically as Jesse snatched up some nails, a board and a bucket of glue. "Jesse, you're using glue, why the heck are you using glue?" I asked.
Jesse didn't reply but Reuben just sat at my feet, sniffing at the hammer Jesse dropped. "Gimme a sec." Jesse repeated and after a full fifteen minutes, he finally climbed down the tree. "What took you so long?" I asked, a bit impatient.
Jesse looked at me and raised an eyebrow. His green eyes were so green, they did not even blend in with the greenery around us. Instead, they stood out. "Axel." Jesse said, and held out a box of nails sheepishly.
I took them without even hesitating and together, we began.
