I was standing there making awkward grunts because I didn't know what to say. Rey was already getting to me. I wanted to scream, or lash out at her. I could have killed her and ended it all right then. But I didn't. I... Couldn't.
Then I remembered that I was Matt. She didn't know who I was, so I knew my answer.
"The light side is okay... When it has balance with the dark."
That's when Rey walked up to me and grinned.
She grabbed my hand. "Balance," she said, her fingers intertwining with mine.
"I um... Haven't been able to experience that balance, actually." I finally said. I'd never said that to anyone before.
It felt good to have someone to talk to. To be with. To maybe even open up to. And as we stood there hands held, staring into each others eyes, I didn't want that feeling to be over.
