Chapter 5

Lucy's POV

I was woken up by an alarm clock going off. It was time for 'school.' I already hate school. It makes me wake up -.-

I woke up and went to take a quick shower and brush my teeth. I got my clothes and headed to the bathrooms. Luckily for me, there was a private shower. I wouldn't feel comfortable with Rin and Yukio there. I shivered at the idea and began to get ready.

I went to the 'cafeteria', or wherever the people eat here, and grabbed a tray of food. Yukio was eating already and I heard Rin yelling, "I'm gonna be late!" as he rushed to his food.

I continued to eat calmly taking my time along with Yukio as Rin inhaled his food then left to get ready.

"Is this normal?" I ask.

"Yeah, he's not a morning person." I giggled and Yukio smiled.

"I almost forgot!" Yukio said and went to get something. He came back with a mountain of books. "You'll need to read these books to catch up with your classmates and there are a few books about Japan in this somewhere." He said pointing at the mountain.

I smiled, "Okay. You're lucky I love to read."

I headed back to my room to get my Gale Force Reading Glasses and sword. Good thing I brought my glasses. I grabbed them as well as a school-bag. When I got back downstairs I stuffed as many books as I could in my bag and planned to carry the rest.

Rin came downstairs completely ready. His eyes grew as he saw how many books I had to read. "Carry some, please?" I ask.

"S-Sure, but can you read them all?" Then he stared to stare at the red glasses I had on.

"Since when did you have glasses?"

"They're magic glasses, I can read really fast with these on, so help." I say and hand him a stack of books.

We walked to class together, and it turned out we were early. I began to read books and Rin sat beside me and tried to see how far he could flick eraser pieces. Yukio had to go to an 'exorcist shop' or something for this lesson.

I was on my 8th book when other students started to come in. Streaky, Renzo and Konekomaru came in a group. They started talking as Rin started to flick erasers at Streaky. I couldn't help but giggle as Rin flicked one in his mouth.

As soon as Streaky noticed Rin and I acted like we didn't do anything. Oh, this wasn't going to be as boring as I thought.

By the time I finished the 15th book, Izumo came in. She stared at me in awe as my 'read' pile became bigger than my 'to read' pile.

When Yukio and Shiemi came I was as informed as my fellow students. I began to return my books to Yukio. I stacked them on his desk and Rin helped.

I put my glasses in my bag and sat down. He stared at me then began to teach.

He was teaching about demons and their abilities. Rin and I listened but I couldn't help but think about other things.

Natsu, Erza, Gray, Happy, Levy, Elfman, Gajeel, PantherLily, Wendy, Charle, Mira, Lisanna, everyone. I left them.

I felt a tear fall from my left eye. I quickly wiped it away, but Streaky saw it. He began to snicker. My book began to burn with golden flames as I tried to control my anger.

Rin looked at me and so did Yukio. They looked at each other and Yukio mouthed something to Rin and Rin took me outside.

I stood in the hall stating at the ground. My tail was going back and forth not from excitement, but anger.

"Lucy, what's wrong?" Rin asked me.

"Nothing, I'm going back to class." I said and stormed into the classroom. Everyone stopped and stared at me as I went to sit next to Shiemi.

She smiled and waved at me, so I did the same. She blushed and went back to work. Rin walked in and no one payed attention except Yukio and me. He went to Yukio and told him something I didn't quite catch.

I put on my glasses and read the assigned chapter in a matter of seconds. Izumo (who was on the other side of Shiemi) looked at me in disbelief. I think I might've become a rival...

I think she thinks I'm challenging her, I sweat dropped at the thought of is fighting like Gray and Natsu.

I watched as everyone else read. I watched their movements, making assumptions of their class staindings. In the end I was too lazy to put anything together.

When everyone finished reading he asked questions. They were all pretty easy. I raised my hand for every single one. Given, I was taught advanced standards since I was a child.
I think it's safe to assume that in this country not many people are taught how to be one thing from birth. Lucky them.

I sighed as we were told to discuss the chapel yet with the people behind us. I turned around to see none other than Streaky.

"Hey, Crybaby."

"Hi, bitch." I smiled sweetly. ((A/N: I just out what I would do XD I'm kinda rude to people who're rude to me))

He looked taken aback by my language but he asked, "How do you even know anything about exorcists? I've never seen you here before."

"We're supposed to talk the chapter, you start." I ignored his question.

"If you wanna be like that, go first."

"Okay, I felt..." I expressed my complete opinion about the entire chapter as he sat there surprised.

"You looked at the book for 2 seconds! How did you learn all that?!" He almost yelled.

"I'm smart, now shut up and do what you were assigned." I was not in the mood for explaining where I came from.

Streaky was the most irritating person in this class. Scratch that, thing. He is a thing. Not even a he. The thing was a thing.

When the thing stated it's opinion about the chapter I didn't even respond I just turned around and ignore the stares of other people.

I decided to read the rest of the book as I waited for everyone to finish. Today was one of the worst days I've had, social wise.

When class was over I was the first one put the door. "U-Um, Lu-chan, c-could you help me study for tomorrow's test?" Shiemi asked, using my nickname I had from Levy-Chan.

"S-Sure." I say and follow her to her 'house'. It was more like a shop with a garden. Giant garden. Not as big as mine, but it was so full of love that my eyes sparkled when I saw it.

"This is beautiful!" I exclaim as she blushes.

"Thanks, I take care of it everyday." She said.

"Alone?! You're amazing Shiemi!" I said and hugged her.

Until it was dark we studied. We tested each other and I had to explain a few things to her but she is really smart. We stopped when someone entered the shop part of the house. It was Yukio.

"Yuki-Chan!" She said.

"Hi, Shiemi, Lucy." He waved.

"Are you here for your order? Mother ((A/N: I forgot if she called her that I'm too lazy to research)) had to go get more supplies." She said grabbing a box from behind the counter.

"Thank you, oh, and Lucy you need to come back Mephisto needs to speak with you." He said.

"Okay. Bye Shiemi, can we study together for the next test? Maybe you can come to our dorm!" I said getting myself excited.

"That would be fun! I'll see if we can, goodbye."

When we got to the dorm Mephisto was waiting for us. He was talking with Rin about something and someone else was with him. I didn't know who it was, but I could tell he was a mage. His magical pressure was through the roof.

I stopped walking. His pressure seemed familiar. Like, I knew him... or someone close to him.

"Ah, Lucy. You're here I'd like you to meet a friend of mine! He's a mage. His name is-"
