We have an Assembly. I see Uriah's Dad on stage with Uriah. Oh god. I sit at the front with Lynn, Tris, Shauna, Marlene and Christina. They start whispering and looking at me weirdly. Max seems to notice. He mouths 'Are you okay?' i nod. He motions me to come up on stage. I obey. Do you want to say your poems? He asks. I nod I stand by Uriah. Once everyone has piled in Max starts to say something I'm max father of 3. He says Now i have a son who came out last night. He told us he was Gay i couldn't be more proud of him here's a poem Kara helped me write:

If my son was gay,

I'd slap him

With a nice high five

Because coming out to your dad

Takes balls that most men don't have

If my son was gay

I'd beat the hell out of him

Because he said he was better than me

At Super Smash

If my son was gay

I'd kick him out of the house

because why waste June on video games

When there are sports to be played

And just because he likes making out with boys

Doesn't mean he can't tackle the shit out of them too

If my son was gay

I'd call him a douche

But only this morning

he ate the last peanut butter cup in the house

(He knows they are my fave)

If my son was gay

I'd still give him the talk

I just wouldn't have to worry about a baby in nine months. Uriah's face is now beetroot red

If my son was gay

I'd tell him to be proud

Because you are human no matter the Gender

on the other side of your mouth

If my son was gay

Nothing would be different at all

except that 10 years down the line

I'll be expecting a handsome son-in-law.

We love you Uriah By now Uriah is crying. I'm going to past you over to Kara who has some brilliant poems about bullying! He says he goes to comfort Uriah. Hi, I'm Kara. I have 3 jobs and school which is VERY hard to juggle. I'm being bullied people think it hurts me but to be honest i have had worse so I've learnt to deal with the pain.

They told her she was ugly

so she believed it

they told her she was loud

so she stopped speaking

they told her she was dumb

so she stopped thinking

they told her she had no talent

so she stopped having fun

they told her she was lazy

she stopped sleeping

even though her life was the nightmare

they told her she was too quiet

so she made small talk

they told her she was sad

so she faked another smile

they told her she wasn't enough

so she became nothing.

This ones called 'I Give Up (originally by a 14 year old girl called 'IZZY DIX' who took her own life bc of bullying all credit goes to her. she was really pretty)

I arrive,

Happy and fresh,

Ready and excited

to celebrate the goodness

i am eager and keen to have a good time

as i smile from the bubbles of anticipation whizzing around my stomach

I begin to see the crowd

i see more people

many are happy and joyful

they're there like me

to celebrate

i smile at them and say hello to many faces i see

they looked shocked and surprised to see me

i question their judgemental faces as i wonder,

'what have i done wrong?'

i see their drinks swilling in their fingers as their backs begin to face me

i try to edge my way back in to the circle of giggles and talking

they push me away

I stand still

my eyes glazed and absent

Suddenly they call me over

i think 'yes! They've noticed me!'

But then it begins

they start to ask questions

as to why im here

they begin to tell me that

nobody wants me here

they tell me to leave and that im not wanted

not here, not anywhere

my heart

my head,

my body

Numb..

I feel pricks of stinging begin to

pinch my eyes as my cheeks begin to burn

'don't let them see you, don't show them you are weakened, weakened my their remarks'

but its to late

my palms, clammy

my cheeks, streaming

my neck, sweating

i walk quietly away from the chanting and laughing,

my vision, spinning

my heart, begins to break

i look down and walk

my eyes drowning in the sea of emotion.

Another place of me chiselled

away by their cruel remarks and perceptions..

I give up.

I turn around and hug Max, Uriah and Zeke while everyone claps. The bell rings meaning its Advanced English.
