The Izna Daily

Good Morning everyone. So how are you doing? I am here dying out of curiosity. Want to know why? Cause our newlywed couple are bound to start for their honeymoon today and I have no idea where they are going. The location is kept strictly confidential for security reasons. I have tried to bribe all my sources to the max in vain. I know this is their private moment and I should keep my long nose out of it. But the heart wants what it wants.

The first thing that came to Hilal's mind when she opened her eyes was this is not her room. The ceilings are different, the walls are different. Where is she? Then it all came back to her suddenly. Of course, this is not her room. She is in the Papadopoulos mansion now. She got married to Leon Papadopoulos yesterday. This is his room. Well, practically it is now her room too.

Thinking of Leon, Hilal slowly turned around and there he was sleeping beside her. He really is very handsome, Hilal thought to herself looking at his sleeping form. Their last night's conversation came back to her. He's also stayed true to his words and remained at his side of the bed throughout the night. But at the same time, she remembered why she got married to him in the first place. She has a mission here and the earlier she completes it the better.

Hilal got off from the bed and went to the dressing room to prepare herself. To play the pretty new bride part she has to look the part first.

When she got back Leon was already up and sitting on the bed.

"Good Morning. Did you sleep well?" Leon asked Hilal.

"Good Morning. Yes, I did. Thank you."

"We have to go to the dining room for breakfast in a little bit. Everybody must have breakfast and dinner together. That's one of my father's rules." Leon informed Hilal.

"Sure, should I go down first?"

"No, no. Just give me five minutes to get ready. If I let you go alone first, I'll never get to hear the end of it from my parents." Leon said with a smile.

A little while later Hilal and Leon came into the dining room. Veronica and Vasili were already seated at the table.

Veronica smiled at them and excitedly said "My children, it's so nice to see you together. Come have some breakfast."

They both sat quietly side by side.

"You'll be going on your honeymoon later today. I understand that this marriage happened too quickly for both of you so take this time to get to know each other. The security will accompany you both so you don't have to worry about safety," Vasili said to them.

Then looking directly at Leon he added pointedly, "I expect you to take good care of our daughter-in-law Leon."

"Yes, baba. I'll try my best." Leon replied, fully understanding the hidden meaning behind his fathers' words.

After finishing breakfast they both returned back to their room to prepare for the journey.

"What type of board games do you like?" Leon asked Hilal.

"What?"

"You don't know board games? Like chess, monopoly, scrabbles etc. Which one do you like?"

"I know what board games are. I am just wondering why are you asking me this random question."

"Well, we are going on our honeymoon but we can't do what normal couples do on their honeymoon so might as well play some board games to pass the time," Leon said with a smirk.

"Your jokes are not funny at all, do you know that?"

"I know. But it's always fun to watch your reactions to them."

His innocent confession brought a smile to Hilal's face.

"So where are we going?" Hilal asked Leon later in the car.

They started for their honeymoon after lunch. The car was passing through a road surrounded by beautiful mountains.

"We are going to one of our farmhouses. Have you ever been to this part of the country?"

"No, but it is beautiful."

"There are plenty of things to do on the farm. So I hope you will not be bored."

"Good to know that but just in case I packed some books from your library," Hilal said to Leon.

"Good move, it's always good to have a second plan. Maybe later you'll show me which books did you pick."

"Maybe."

Suddenly Leon looked a bit tense and started to look around from the car window.

"What is it?" Hilal asked.

"Something is wrong. This is not the correct way to the farmhouse and we lost the security car that was following us from the start."

Just as Leon was saying this the car took a sharp turn towards a road that leads to the forest. Even Hilal could sense something was clearly wrong. The car came to an abrupt halt and the driver turned around and pointed a gun at them.

"Get out of the car." The driver said.

"Adonis, are you out of your mind? What are you doing?" Leon said angrily to the driver.

The driver named Adonis shrugged nonchalantly and said "Get out your highness. You two are being kidnapped."

Leon got out of the car slowly followed by Hilal.

"Hilal, stay behind me," Leon whispered to Hilal. Then he turned to Adonis who was still pointing a gun at them.

"Adonis, stop this madness. You will get punished heavily when our guards find us."

Adonis laughed maniacally.

"Your guards have no idea where you are at the moment so how will they find you? I'm tired of being controlled by both of your families. It's high time a new era should begin."

"Whoever you are working for it will not work do you understand," Hilal said.

"Tsk tsk, but You are wrong on this matter little princess. Soon your families will bow down to the Black Daggers. They are the future of this country."

Adonis then whistled to someone in distance. At the same time, both Hilal and Leon felt a sting in their legs.

"They shot us with tranquillizers," Hilal said weakly to Leon just before losing consciousness.

Leon managed to get a hold of Hilal before she hit the ground but soon he also succumbed to the effect of the drug and darkness claimed him.
