"How do you guys know each other?" Tessa asks moving her hair back, irritated when it won't stay in place. She stood between Hermione and Draco, giving them weird looks.
"I could ask you the same thing" Hermione and Draco exclaim in unison. The brown haired beauty stared at the pale, handsome man in horror, as does he. She waits for his face to turn into a sneer or frown with disgust, however, non of those things happened. The two of them only glared at one another.
Draco must have been surprised with the astonished look on Hermione's face. His lips curled up into a one sided smirk. He ran a hand over his abs and itch the skin under his collar bone tilting his head back, showing off his sharp jaw line.
"What are you staring at, Granger?" Tessa must have felt the awkward tension rise. She grabbed Hermione and Draco's arms, pushing them down onto the chairs around the dinning table, next to each other. Hermione, quickly, moved her chair away from his causing it to creak against the hard surface below. Tessa sets up two plates and silver wares in front of them. She gracefully pours water and serves a plateful of pasta, simultaneously, turning in a ballerina swirl.
Hermione stare at her, mouth ajar. She had never known anyone could move like that, even better, while swirling. Tessa felt a pair of eyes looking at her looking at her. She shyly grins at Hermione, scratching the back of her head.
"What? You get used to it after serving people all day long!" There's a hint of sadness in her voice. But mostly playfulness. Hermione grabs her hand and squeeze it softly,
"Thank you, Tessa. For everything" Hermione smiles, her whole face lighting up in the process. Draco couldn't help but notice the sudden change. Tessa's whole face lightens up too, she pecks Hermione's cheek and sits in front of the two annoying adults.
"Tastes amazing, Tess" Draco comments. His silver eyes flickered briefly over to Hermione sitting next to him, then Tessa. Tessa reaches forward and pinches his cheeks while Malfoy whines. I am dumbfounded yet again at the exchange of friendliness.
"How do you guys know each other?" Hermione ask, shoving in a huge shovel of food. Her mind still has the fresh memory of them laughing together. They seemed so close.
Hermione's insides filled with something she was so familiar with; sadness. She felt her chest clench, automatically, as she thought about her own friends. They always busy, unable to make time for Hermione. It sucked for her to be so far away from the closest thing she had to a family.
"We meet at a family party. It was bloody boring so we talked for a while. After that night, we hung out almost everyday. Eventually, we ended up being the best of friends. Draco lives in the apartment in front of mine." Tessa interrupts Hermione's depressing thoughts, hastily trying to uncap a bottle of mineral water.
The Gryffindor smiled at the kind hearted, red haired girl. She's met lots of people, though never anyone quite like Tessa. Tessa had, what Hermione called a, mixed personality. She seemed so excited and enthusiastic, that when she turned frustrated or angry it surprised Hermione.
Hermione watched the girl tries to uncap the bottle was water, to amused to help. Tessa's wild hair flew in front of her face. Tessa blew on it hard each time it fell on her face, annoyed. Her cheeked had flushed red. Silent swear words escaping Tessa's pinkish lips.
"Give it here" Draco snatches the bottle from her, surely irritated. Slightly amused, Draco unscrews the bottle and hands it back to a fuming Tessa again.
"Thanks," Tessa murmured gulping down the whole bottle.
Hermione spooned her pasta into her mouth. She realized she was having dinner with two purebloods who were not her friends. About a week ago she would've laughed at herself even at the thought of talking to Malfoy. Now here she was, eating next to him.
