Chapter Nine

A couple hours later I start getting ready for the party. My door swings open and Cayden walks in. "Cayden! What if I was naked!" I yell at him. "I was kinda hoping you were to be honest" He says laughing. I throw my shirt at him and start laughing too. He walks over to me and tries to help with my necklace. "Ouch! What the fuck is wrong with your necklace?" He asks angerly. "Maybe it doesn't like when you touch it" I say giggling. "Ha ha very funny" He says with a smile. I'm so glad I played that one off. He tries to touch the necklace again. "Why does it keep doing that?" He asks. Shit I didn't play it off too good. "If I told you something you promise not to freak out about it or think I'm crazy? Because If I tell you this one, you can't tell anyone and two, I know how crazy it sounds so just bare with me" I tell him. "Of course. I'll listen babe." He replies. I tell him everything about the necklace and my Grandma and my Aunt Becky. He stands up and starts walking towards the door and stops. "You're more crazier than I have ever imagined Raelynn. I can't do this" He says. "Cayden! What do you mean!?" I yell. "It means I can't be with you if you're going to be like this" He says as he walks out the door and shuts it behind him. I begin crying. I lay down on my bed and cover up head to toe. I hear my door open. "Go away" I say. "What happened with you and my brother? He walked out crying" Harley says. "Not my fault" I say. "He literally told me he couldn't be with me because I was too crazy" I add. "I'll kill him for doing this" She says angerly. "No. It's fine. I probably am crazy for believing all this shit" I tell her. "Believing what?" She asks. I tell her everything as well. "I knew they were real!" She says with shock. "My brother is just stupid. Now get up and lets go to the party" She adds. "I'm not going anymore Harley" I tell her. "Oh yes you are" She tells me as she grabs my arm. "Fine I'll go" I say as I roll my eyes. We get into the car and towards the party. When we get there I get out of the car and see Adam standing outside. I walked over to him. "Why have you been crying?" He asks as he puts his hands on my face. "I haven't Adam" I say pushing his hands away. "I know you Raelynn. What's wrong?" "I'm fine. I'm over it already" I say. "No you're not. Now tell me" He says. "Cayden. We were kinda seeing each other and he broke up with me already" I tell him. "You deserve better Rae. If he's going to break up with you after only being together for like a week then he's not worth it" He tells me as he gives me a hug. "Now smile. You look beautiful" He adds as he smiles. I smile back. I don't feel beautiful. We walk into the party. Everyone is drinking. I felt like I owed myself a drink so I drunk one. One turned into two and then three and to the point I was so drunk I couldn't walk straight and I was stumbling everywhere. I walk outside and started looking around trying to find Harley. I see something jump out of the bushes and run towards me. I start to walk backwards and of course trip and fall. I open my eyes and the wolf.. or maybe even a werewolf ran inside the house. Everything else is a blur. I wake up in a hospital bed. Why is it that I always end up here. I look around and see no one. I look out the window in the hall. I see Adam and Cayden arguing. "You don't even care about her! If you did you wouldn't have broke up with her!" Adam yells and pushes Cayden. "I will always care about her! Get the hell out of my way Adam! I need to see her right now!" He yells back pushing Adam to the floor. He opens the door runs to me. "Thank god you're okay" He says as he starts to cry. He wraps his arms around me. "I don't know I would do without you. I'm so stupid Raelynn. Please forgive me?" He says. "I forgive you Cayden, but I can't get back with you right now" I tell him. "Why not?" He asks. "Because you didn't believe me. You told me that I was crazy and then you broke up with me not even after two weeks of us dating. Do you know how that makes me feel? Terrible. It makes me feel terrible" I explain to him. "I'm sorry.. but can you really blame me? I mean none of this is suppose to be real" He says as he begins to cry. Something else is bothering him. I can tell it. "I know Cayden. Please stop crying everything will be okay" I say as I try to calm him down. "No Raelynn. Nothing is okay" He says as he walks out of the room. "Cayden!! Come back here!" I yell. He kept walking and ignoring me. I jump out of the hospital and run down the hall. I grab him and gave him a hug and then kissed him. "Tell me what's wrong Cayden" I say. He pushes my arms away and picked me up. He took me back to my hospital bed. He shuts the door and then sits beside me. "That thing you told me about someone with the werewolf gene and triggering it? Well I kinda did that last night. I was in a car accident on my way trying to get to you and it was my fault and the guy in the other car died. The police say it wasn't my fault but I just know it was. So if all of this is true what do we do now?" He tells me. I hug him again. "I'm so sorry Cayden. I don't really know. My Aunt Becky is suppose to train me to fight and hunt" I say to him. "Maybe she can help me" Cayden says. "Maybe she can" I reply. I give him a kiss. "How long have I been up here" I ask. "This will be your second night" He answers. "Why are they keeping me?" I ask. "When you fell you hit your head on the porch" He replies. "Wait. Where's Harley!? Is she okay?" I start freaking out. "She's fine Raelynn. Calm down please. She was just scratched" He tells me. "I want to see her" I say. "She's already at home resting" He says. The door opens and Adam and Derek walk in. "How are you doing Rae?" Derek asks. "I feel fine. I have a headache though" I say. He walks over and kisses me on the forehead. "Get some sleep. Adam and I is going home" He tells me. "Alright goodnight y'all" I say. Adam looked at me with a sad puppy face and then turns and walks out. "I'm staying the night with you" Cayden says. "Adam stayed with you last night" He adds. I smile. "Y'all mean so much to me" I tell him. He kisses and tells to get some sleep.
