A few weeks later after the funeral I was sent to live with my Aunt Stasha. They say you're not supposed to hate anyone but you better believe I hate my Aunt Stasha. After me and my little brother was settled in she had us prep the table for dinner. I start back to school tomorrow. We all sat down and ate our dinner in silence. Finally my little brother broke the quiet. "Can I have some dessert?" He asked. My Aunt Stasha scolded him. "It's may I, not can I. And no you may not because you haven't finished your food. Now sit there and eat and stop talking" This is why we were always quiet during dinner at Aunt Stasha's. After dinner I helped clean up and asked if I could stay the night at Harley's. That was a big mistake. She slapped me in the face. "No you may not! You just got here and your not going to a friends house. To me, you have no friends. Your duty is to go to school and come straight back home. No stops in between or there will be consequences." She yells. I run up into my new room. I begin to cry and I get a phone call from Cayden. I tried to hide the fact that I was crying but he knew something was wrong. I didn't tell him what just happened. Aunt Stasha came storming into my room and yanked my phone from my ear and out of my hand. "There will absolutely be no cell phones in this house!" She yells as she throws my phone against the wall. It shatters into a million pieces. "Clean that up Red" She says as she walks out the door. I begin to cry more. I clean up the broken pieces of the phone and threw them in the garbage. I then took a shower and went to bed. The next morning I wake up and get ready for school. I grabbed my car keys and was about to walk out the door. "Hold it right there Red!" I hear Aunt Stasha yell from the living room. She walks into the kitchen and grabbed my car keys. "You will not have a vehicle under my roof. This is now my car" She says. "How the hell am I supposed to get to school then?" I asked in a tone. She slaps me again. "Watch your mouth!" She yells. "You can take the bus just like your brother but today you will have to walk because it already ran" She says as she turns around and walks away. I go outside and it starts raining. Of course this is my life now. It takes me an hour and thirty-five minutes to walk to school. When I finally walked in the bell had already went off and I was late. I signed into the office. I'm soaked and my hair is all kinds of messed up right now. Harley sees me and asks why I'm wet. I explained and she totally hates Aunt Stasha too. She gave me a pair of her clothes she had in her gym locker. I thanked her and changed immediately. At lunch I sat down at our regular table. Cayden didn't show up. "Where's Cayden at Harley?" I asked. "I don't know he was here this morning" She replied. We finished eating and took our trays to the window. When I turned around Cayden was standing there. "I have been looking for you everywhere. Are you okay? What happened last night?" He asked with concern. I thought it was kinda cute he was worrying about me. He's never showed any interest before. But I was mad at him for asking in front of all our friends. I stormed off and walked into my next class. Cayden walked in behind me. "Why did you storm like that?" He asked as he sat down next to me. "You mentioned that right in front of everyone. I'm embarrassed." I answered. He looks at me and says I shouldn't be. I told him everything about my Aunt Stasha. "You need to leave from there Raelynn" He said. "I don't have any other family Cayden" I told him. He gives me a hug and told me he would talk to me after school. He walks back out of class.
