Little wolf sighed and began to scribble onto his notepad again. This time he showed almost everyone at the table; 'She is NOT my girlfriend!' I felt relieved as soon as I had read the words and his father chuckled again to himself.
"She's had a huge crush on him for years. She wants to marry him and everything." Bokkan explained disinterested like he didn't approve.
"Oh Ember has one of those back home don't you sweetheart. Zak can't keep himself away." My father said bringing to the table. I felt more than saw little wolf grow suddenly tense beside me as he guided his pen over the paper to write 'Who is Zak?' and show to only me. I shook my head in a 'don't worry about it' way and gave my father an evil stare for bringing it up. Was little wolf getting jealous?
Bokkan waved the girl at the window away and she slowly faded off into the night.
"Her name is Joy. She often comes here to stay. Luckily by the time she is of age my son will have found himself the perfect obedient mate to raise strong pups with. I'll be damned if he picks a whiny temperamental bitch like that to be the luna of my pack." He grumbled telling my parents. Looks like Mr Alpha doesn't like strong willed women. Especially not for his son. Little wolf began to write something into his notepad when his father grabbed it and threw it over his shoulder, gulping down more of his wine.
"What does it matter who he picks to be his wife." I began. "He can chose whoever he wants to and it's got nothing to do with you." I pointed out firmly. Little wolf looked stunned in the chair next to me at my outburst but thankful I was sticking up for him.
"Young lady you will shut your mouth this instant." My father snapped across the table.
"She's certainly got balls, Raine. Bigger ones than my son at least." Bokkan smirked with his death glare on me once again.
"I wouldn't be too sure about that." I challenged softly and little wolf blushed holding in a grin. My father looked furious and once again told me to be quiet. Bokkan excused himself to use the bathroom leaving the rest of us alone at the table. Little wolf picked up his fathers glass of wine and drunk the lot in one go, pouring some more back in so his father wouldn't notice. He then picked up his notepad off of the floor and left the room to grab the small tube he was carrying earlier and handed it over to me.
"For me?" I asked smiling and he nodded. I opened it and inside was a rolled up piece of thick paper; a picture drawn in some kind of chalk or pastel of the woods, the clearing where we had first met and both of us in wolf form staring at each other. It was incredible. It was signed at the bottom LW with yesterday's date on. Another gift.
"Oh little wolf, it's amazing. I can't believe how talented you are." I whispered to him and he quickly planted a soft kiss on my cheek.
"Let's have a look?" My mother said excitedly. My father glared at her and then at me.
"Is this your mystery man you've been seeing? There was me thinking we were invited here out of the goodness of his heart, because he felt sympathy for what happened today. But I think what he really wanted was to meet you! The girl that's been messing around with his son!" My father blurted out.
"I don't particularly care." I uttered, crossing my arms. I pressed the side of my knee up against little wolfs and felt the warmth soak through onto my skin. I reached for his hand under the table and he squeezed it tight. I almost forgot how large his hands were.
"I understand that Max doesn't seem like most young men that are constantly hounding you for your attention so I can see why you like him." My father stated.
"And I can see why he likes her. She's easy meat. And I bet the only time she's quiet is when she's got her big mouth stuffed full with his cock!" Alpha Bokkan remarked as he slithered back into the room and took his seat. Little wolf choked on the glass of water he was drinking, liquid dripping down his chin and onto the table. My mother hung her head and looked as though she had decided to keep out of it. My father looked more angry than I've ever seen him and Logan had his head in one of his hands shaking his head.
"You know, if your head wasn't so far up your own ass, you would see what a talented and amazing son you have! Even if he can't speak, he will be twice the alpha you'll ever be!..." I bellowed, about to say more in my fit of fury when little wolf grabbed my hand tight on the table and I suddenly lost all trail of thought and instantly became calmer. Weird.
"I see..." Alpha Bokkan mumbled, taking a sip of his wine. "It is such a shame your mate never got the chance to claim you at the ceremony. I could tell he was very much looking forward to making you his. Just think of all the things he could have done to you by now if you hadn't fainted like a scared little girl. I wonder if you'd even be in one piece..." Bokkan swilled the red liquid around his wine glass staring at it like it was the most interesting thing in the world. My fathers head snapped over to look at him, that look of terror upon his face once more. "Perhaps I should give him a call? Let him know you are here and ready to start your new life with him? The full moon will be soon upon us and I bet your mating heat will soon kick in also. I bet the prince would love to bury his heir deep into your womb..." He carried on. My father hurriedly got to his feet, pushing back his chair with a loud scrape.
"Please Alpha. Don't do that. I beg you." My father pleaded. I had never seen my father beg anyone before. Bokkan knew he had struck a nerve. Little wolf crushed my hand in his as I looked round to see him angry for the first time.
