Little wolf stood before me wearing smart navy pants with a thin navy jumper. His brown hair combed neatly away from his face and held into position in an almost quiff like style. His light facial hair made him look so much older than 18 and it was evident he had been working out to build up his muscular frame. It was amazing how much he had changed. I couldn't take my eyes away.
"It's great to see you again and happy birthday." My father smiled not holding out his hand to greet the alpha. I remembered Logan had said not to touch him or shake his hand unless he showed otherwise. Why was that? Little wolf was a gentleman. Or he had been when I knew him 2 years ago.
"Here, just a little something for you." My mother handed him a tube from her purse and he popped the lid, pulling out a rolled up piece of paper. I recognised it instantly. It was the drawing of us in wolf form little wolf had given to me for my 18th birthday. Zak had taken it down after a while and it ended up amongst a load of papers and files in a cabinet in the lounge.

Little wolf stared at the drawing with a slight smile on his face, looking at it almost as if he were seeing it for the first time.
"Didn't that used to be on your wall?" Zak questioned, peering round to get a look at the gift my mother had given him.
"Yes. You took it down. Remember?" I reminded him and his brow furrowed.
"Why would you give him this?" He asked and I shrugged my shoulders. I hadn't given it to him. My mother had.
"Well I thought Max might like it as I remember he liked art and drawing." My mother smiled innocently. Maybe she meant what she said. But if she didn't mean it, why else would she have given it to him?
Zak didn't seem fully convinced and I knew he would start to catch on one way or another. He usually does.
"Fantastic turn out you have here. I recognise quite a few pack leaders and their families. Zak, come with me and I'll introduce you to some of the alphas." My father said leading him away before he could say anymore about the drawing. Phew.

I stood next to my mother with little wolf standing now a head taller than me just in front of us. He took off his sunglasses and hung them on his sweater, smiling down at me.
"He's missed you." Logan spoke up from his side. This made me smile more. That was really great to know. I was so pleased to see him again, I never thought I would. But here he was. Here I was.
"A lot has happened since we were here last." My mother had started to tell. Great.
"It wasn't until recently did I realise you were not up north with Ares. I heard of a new blood alpha but I assumed you were still involved with Ares. If we had known you were back home..." Logan trailed off looking over to little wolf who seemed agitated. "I'm sorry, as soon as I knew she was here, I knew I had to invite her. She is my birthday present to you actually."
"That's so sweet!" My mother smiled happily looking between us both. Little wolf seemed to relax a little and began taking in my form again. I had learnt before to know what he was saying by reading it in his eyes. I had gotten pretty good at it too. He was happy I was here. And he liked what he was seeing.

I took a gulp of my drink but someone knocking into me from behind made me spill it down the front of my dress and splashing little wolf. I was about to turn around to see who it was but little wolf had stormed past me and grabbed the guy by the throat and pinned him against the nearby wall. I watched as his hand squeezed tightly around the guys neck, his feet hovering over the floor. I walked over to the 2 men and gently placed my hand onto little wolfs side, causing him to snap his head around to face me. His eyes were filled with anger and rage with a desperate need to hurt the man in front of us. As soon as he saw me, his eyes changed back to soft chocolate and his grip started to lessen.
"It's okay little wolf. I'm fine." I told him reassuringly and the man was now free, standing fully on the floor and running away choking for his life. I noticed a few stares from around us but thought nothing of it. I led him by the elbow back to where we were standing and took in the looks of the people around us.
"These people aren't used to seeing the silent alpha loose his tempter?" I asked lightheartedly. I couldn't even believe little wolf could lose his temper like that, but 2 years had past and it was becoming more and more clearer he wasn't the same young boy I left here on that day. I knew I should never have left him here.
"Oh they're used to it. It's not him they're looking at. It's you." Logan said, glancing around to meet their gazes.
"What do you mean they're looking at me? Tell them to cut it out!" I started to get annoyed at all the sudden attention when Zak appeared at my side holding me in close.
"What happened? I missed it. Did someone try something whilst my back was turned?" He growled noting the stain on my dress.
"No. Just an accident. That's all. I'm fine." I replied bluntly and he loosened his grip a little.
