"I'm done packing" Marlene said coming into my home office.
I looked up from my laptop, "great. Have you finished all your chores and your homework?"
She huffed, "mom you can't be serious. I'm only going for the weekend"
I looked at her silently.
She rolled her eyes and huffed, leaving the office.
I shook my head and looked up, "lord give me strength" I clapped my hands together.
I was going to get started on a new advertisement when the door bell rang.
I got up and walked towards the door.
Looking thru the blinds I saw a black SUV and I immediately knew who it was.
I opened the door and stood there.

"Hey" He said with a low tone voice.
Before I could answer Marlene came running down the stairs.
"Daddyyyyy" She hugged him.
"Hey princess" he said hugging her while looking at me.
I walked by him and closed the door then continued to walk towards the kitchen.
"I'm so glad you're here. I can't wait to go to Chicago and visit Mia and granny and hang with Mally and jdog" I heard her chuckle as they walked towards the kitchen.
I made myself busy pouring water in a cup followed by a bag of green tea.
"I'm going to get my stuff. Oh by the way your son isn't coming" she patted his shoulders, smiling before leaving the kitchen.
"How did such a sassy, preppy little girl come out of me" I thought sipping my tea.
"So you ain't happy I'm here" he asked sitting on the high chair.
