Brandon D.

The next day.

"Ma here, this for Gia" I said handing her 2 stacks.

She looked at the money and then up at me.

"Where you going? and why can't you give this to her?" She asked following me through the hallway.

"Cus i gotta go to a performance tonight and ima fly back to Chicago after the performance" I said sitting down and grabbing my timbs.

She huffed, "I swear ya'll going to kill me with this childish shit" She said walking away into the kitchen.

After yesterday I didn't feel like being around Gia. She had other things going on and i wasn't one of them.

I was about to walk out the door when Gia walked up.

"So your mother just gave this to me" She looked at me with a stale face expression and the stacks of money in her hand.

"Why?" She asked.

"For the kids and other things you may need" I said.

"I don't need it, we're fine" She said trying to give me the money back.

"G, take it. I'm serious and it ain't on no goofy shit"

"No Brandon I don't need it, honestly" She insisted.

"why are you always fighting with dad" Marlene came out the kitchen.

"Stop fighting with him! it's not his fault he loves you and you don't" She looked at Gia angry.

"Why are you even letting him in if all you do is hurt him!?" She asked, "that's being a big hypocrite"

"Marlene stay out of it" Gia said.

"No I won't he's my dad and i'm going to defend him no matter what. If you don't want him then let him go and never talk to him again but one thing i'll tell you. I WILL go live with him and you will never see me!!" She screamed.

Gia walked up to her and smacked her. I ran towards Gia to stop her hand from hitting her again.

"Aye G stop" I said grabbing her hand and trying to pull her.

She smacked my hand off of her and got out my grip.

Marlene put her hand over her cheek and immediately the tears started coming.

"Don't you ever disrespect your mother like that! I've had enough of your foolishness! I am your mother! the one who gave you your life! Stop being disrespectful because next time daddy won't be here to save yo ass! Keep fucking playing with me Marlene" She said pointing at her.

"Gia calm down baby" Kathy said pulling her into the kitchen.

"Nope i've been calm for too long! I don't care if you my daughter ima treat you like you treat me so be prepared" She pointed and looked at her with a mean mug while Kathy kept pulling her.

The savage that I knew finally came out. It was worse to be honest.

Marlene kept quiet as she looked at Gia.

I knew she was scared because she was shaking. She never seen her mom like that and this wasn't the half of it.

"Let's go" Kathy said finally taking her into the kitchen.

Marlene looked up at me with tears in her eyes.

"Come on" I said taking her upstairs.

We walked into her room and I signaled her to sit.
