Chapter 9

"What? W-why would he be the killer? Why did you even think that?" You ask, not really accepting the fact that Mitsuki is the killer.

"Because since the day he came, that's when people started dying right? Isn't that suspicious and isn't that a clear evidence?" Shikadai replied.

"Yeah, but we can't just go and accuse random people specially when they're just new! Yes Mitsuki is new to the school but... you still don' t have any evident that he could be the killer!" You don't even know why you were defending Mitsuki but you knew that he wasn't the killer, or at least you hope he wasn't.

"I think Shikadai has a point. This events just happened the day after Mitsuki arrived. Y/n, it is clear that he's the killer." Inojin joined the conversation and you shook your head.

"No! He is not the killer!" You exclaim then bowed your head.

'He's way too nice to be the killer.' You thought.

"Killer or not, let's not jump to conclusion guys! It might just be a coincidence." Sumire supported you and you were relieve that there's someone who's on your side. "But if somehow he might be the killer, I suggest that we leave this to Y/n?"

You were confuse at what Sumire just said.

"What do you mean?" You question her.

"What I mean is, try and get close to him as much as possible and when he takes you to his house, try and search for any evidence if he might be the killer." Sumire explained.

"That's a great idea! Y/n, you're the only one who could get close to him and see if he's really the killer. Your main goal is to keep an eye on him and see if anything is suspicious about him. If there is, report to us immediately. That is your mission." Inojin said and you hesitated before agreeing.

"And Y/n, please be careful. I don't want another student dying today." Sumire held your hand and you gave her a reassuring smile.

"I will." You knew to yourself that Mitsuki will never hurt you, or that's what you hope for.

You then suddenly remember something.

"Oh, by the way, there's this book that I've been reading and... I don't know why but I think it's telling my story or future and who's going to die." You said and that caught everyone's attention.

"Tell us all about it." Shikadai demanded and you told them everything.

You told how the main character Julia seems to be connected to you, Kija to Kiba, Sarah to Sarada, Dock to Rock Lee and Misuki to Mitsuki. You told them that the way the book said Kija would die was the same to Kiba but Dock's death wasn't the same as it turn out with Rock Lee. The Hiruzen Sarutobi was given the name Principal but there wasn't any death for him.

You didn't tell about the phone call you have with him since you didn't remember that bit. It was like a cloud was blocking your memories to remember that event.

"So Kiba's death was the same on the book but not Lee. The Principal was also the same since it didn't say anything about his death but he was sure to die..." Shikadai went into his thinking mode and then look at you.

"Y/n, we need you to read more on the book and tell us what's going to happen next and who's going to die next." He instructed and you nod.

You look outside the window and the ground was nearing. You then saw Mitsuki staring at you while smiling. You couldn't help but smile back. You then saw him took out his phone and started talking to whoever was on the phone.

???'s POV

"Hello?"

"Yes it's me."

"Of course I do."

"I'm listening to them right now."

"I guess they're starting to figure out what's happening."

"I want you to make a diversion so they won't have any suspicion that I'm the killer."

"Alright, you know what to do. She have to be eliminated as soon as possible. A smart girl like her could ruin everything."

"No one will even suspect a thing for I have a plan on how they won't know that it was me. I have the perfect diversion for it. In the meantime, I'll be keeping an eye on her."

Normal POV

"Sure." By the time you said that, the Ferris wheel that the four of you were riding made it to the bottom.

You saw Mitsuki putting his phone away and in his pocket. The four of you got out and walk towards Mitsuki, who was patiently waiting for the four of you all those time you were on the Ferris wheel.

"You're still here huh? What a drag." Shikadai sigh and walk past him.

"I'm gonna go to where I could buy art stuff." Inojin said and left.

"I-I'm going home! I-I still need to catch up on my assignments." Sumire bowed politely and ran away.

You and Mitsuki stood there in silent and you were dying because of the awkward tension that was growing.

"What ride do you want to go to?" He ask you and you look around the place.

"How about that one?" You ask while pointing something in front of you.

Mitsuki followed your gaze and saw the Space coaster.

"You sure?" He question, concern was clearly shown in his eyes.

"Why not?" You gave him a smile and he nods.

The two of you made your way to the Space coaster in silence. Not an awkward silent, but a peaceful silent. You weren't worried about being with Mitsuki because somehow, you felt safe whenever you're around him and you didn't know why.

So you were having a doubt that he would be the killer, well, the thought on your mind of him being the killer never cross your mind. You didn't feel any bad vibes towards him or even see him as a bad person. You knew to yourself that... Mitsuki is innocent.
