Chapter 24

Mitsuki brought down the knife and I close my eyes, ready to meet my fate.

"Y/N!"

"Y/N!" A voice shouted, making me open my eyes and sat up.

I then felt a pain on my head, indicating that I bump into something or someone.

"Ouchie!" I scream and realise that I was... in my room and it was morning.

I look around to saw no dead bodies, not even Mitsuki. I was sweating so hard though and I was hyperventilating. I look at the person whom I just bump into and it was none other than my father.

"Dad?" I ask him as he rubs his forehead.

I was confuse in the meantime for I have no idea what was currently happening.

Where is the dead bodies? Where's Mitsuki?

"Oh, hey there sweetie, I heard you screaming so I've been trying to wake you up this whole time." My father explain and I laugh in relief while putting him into an embrace.

"I'm glad that you're alive!" I exclaim and it took him three seconds before he hug back.

"Hey there now, I'm alive. I'm a 100% alive, you were just having a nightmare." He stroke my back and I widen my eyes.

A nightmare... 

It was just a nightmare...

Thank goodness!

After I calmed down, my father pulled away then look seriously into my eyes.

"What was your nightmare about?" He ask and I suddenly remembered all the death of my friends, caused by the man I have fallen in love with.

"M-Mitsuki... k-killed e-every-one..." I manage to get out as tears started streaming down my face again.

My father put me into an embrace and started stroking my hair.

"Don't worry sweetheart, it was only just a dream." He said and soon, I stop crying. "Do you want me to call the school and tell you that you can't come?"

I then widen my eyes in realisation that I still need to go to school and I was... thirty minutes late! I then remembered what Becky had told me.

Start from the beginning

I already went to Kiba's house and found new information so now I had to go to Lee's house.

"I think I'll pass school this time, I need a rest." I told my father and he nods.

"Alright, I'll call your teacher right away." He said and left my bedroom.

Alright Rock Lee, here I come.

-----Mini time skip-----

I was now walking towards Lee's house when suddenly, I saw Kakashi walking towards my direction. He have sadness on his face and it made me sad as well to know that his daughter was gone.

"Good morning Kakashi." I greeted sadly and he look at me.

"Ah, Y/n, there's no good in the morning." He stated and I sigh.

"I'm so sorry for your loss."

"Don't be." His look then became serious. "You can't be sorry if the real killer hasn't been caught yet."

I widen my eyes at what he just told me.

"W-what do you mean? Isn't it Mitsuki's the real kill-" I was cut off by him.

"That's what I thought at first." He said then looked around. "We can't discuss this here, it's too dangerous. Come with me."

Now I was doubting about everything. If Mitsuki is not the real killer, then who could it be?

When we got to his now new house, he leads mo to the dining table and gave me a favourite drink.

"Is there anyone else who knows about Mitsuki being in jail?" He questions.

"Only me, Inojin, Shikadai and my father. The rest, I don't know but the new Principal which is Lady Tsunade, had told us to tell everyone that Mitsuki transferred to another school." I replied and he put his hand under his chin.

"I see." He muttered and there was a moment of silence between us so I decided to break it.

"So about the killer, why did you say that it's not Mitsuki?" I ask and he sat the opposite side of me with a serious face on.

"Because everytime someone dies, Mitsuki is always the one calling the cops or the ambulance right?" Now that I think about it, he was right except for Sumire's death.

Mitsuki was never there... was he?

"Now think about it, why would Mitsuki call the police? If he's the real killer, why would he do that if he doesn't want to get caught? And before my... daughter died, Mitsuki called me. He called me telling me that my daughter might die if I don't come home early! Now why would he do that?! Why would he warn me and even tell me his name if he's the killer?!" Each and every seconds, his voice was getting louder and louder and I could see tears forming his eyes.

"But... his fingerprints was found at a certain things on everyone's death."

"I know that but... your father is my partner and he would always get to the body before me." He stated and somehow, I felt like I already know what he's going to tell me. "And everytime I get to the body to investigate, it's like something is always missing."

"What do you mean?"

"I don't know but the information he gives me doesn't really connect to the crime scene. At first he told me that Kiba ate in the Ramen restaurant and got a food poisoning. The seller even said so but when I return to him to get his statement again, he freak out and apologises many times saying that the Boogie man threatened to kill his family if he ever tells the truth." He explained and I widen my eyes.

And here I thought that the Boogie Man isn't real. That Kiba was just making it up.

"And the time that Rock Lee died, a student told me that he was threatened as well by the Boogie man so he kept his mouth shut on who the real killer was."
