CHAPTER 5
"So what happened? You kept the dress? You looked like a movie star! Coke is totally into you!" Grace babbles hysterically, excited because of the awesomeness I achieved the night before.
"Um, thanks? Now Sophia's really mad at me, she looked like she wanted to mush my face when Coke told her to shut up," I say.
Grace turns red with anger. "That little bitch, I'm going to make sure she goes to hell."
"Can you not cuss? It's bad for you," I tell her. Honestly, I hate cussing, saying bad words. The world doesn't care if you cuss. It will mean nothing to them, unless you're creative with your choice of words. In other words, cussing is bad.
Grace rolls her eyes. "Prim and proper as always, Bright Young," she says in a horrible British accent. "Come on, Bright," she continues in her normal voice. "We're eighteen. We can do stuff."
"Whatever. I'm sticking to my values," I say back. Little Miss Goody Two-Shoes.
"Okay. That's right. Your a little angel if Stuffy's a little bitch," Grace says cheerfully. "Ma'am Carolyn can be the devil."
I can't help but laugh. "Okay. Fine. Then what are you?"
"A saaaint..." Grace says slowly.
"Yeah, right. A saint who cusses. There's a lot of those in Heaven," I say sarcastically.
"You're changing the topic! So what happened?"
I blush, remembering the night's events.
"Nothing much," I say carefully. "He gave me the dress, he told me I was...different."
Grace starts to giggle but tries to stifle it, so it ends up to become a sort of yawn-burp-giggle thing. "You? Different?"
I'm a little hurt. "Ouch."
Grace quickly stops her yawn-burp-giggling. "Sorry. I didn't mean that."
"It's cool. I'll let it go."
As if on cue, Grace starts singing, "Let it gooooo! Let it gooooo! Can't hold it back anymooooore!"
I really can't understand my best friend sometimes. She can be plain weird.

Beep.
I check my phone.
Unknown number. Hmm... Who could it be? I open the text message that he/she whoever sent me.
Hi
-Coke
How on earth did he get my number?
Um how did you get my number?
-Bright
I have my connections
-Coke
Fine, I'll let it pass. Sooo... why are you texting me?
-Bright
Open your window
-Coke
Whaaaa?
-Bright
I wait for a moment but he still doesn't answer.
Hello?
-Bright
Still no answer. I sigh and open my window.
Coke grins cheekily and climbs up, letting himself into my room. "Surprise."
I turn red. "W...what are you d...doing here?"
"I wanted to hang out with you," he says.
"IS SOMEONE THERE?"
Grace.
One second...
Two seconds...
Three seconds...
"NO!" Coke yells back.
We hear a loud crash coming from the kitchen. "Oh, shit," Grace says from there. She has a naturally loud voice.
Coke laughs and grins at me. "Shit it is."
"Um," I say. "I like minions."
What the heck, Bright Young, that's all you can say? Intelligent as always.
"Ha, me too," Coke says enthusiastically.
"So, anyway..." my voice trails off.
"Yeah, uh, the real reason I'm here is... I'm inviting you to go with us to this amazing adventure resort place-"
"Who's 'us'?" I ask curiously.
"Me, Sis, Sophia, and Charlotte."
Charlotte Gardner is Sophia's mom. I know this because she went to visit Ma'am Carolyn one time. She looks a lot like Sophia. So if Sophia looks like Ma'am Carolyn and her mother, they practically look like siblings, or something. The Terror Trio, more like it.
"Oh. Um, I have school, and work. Plus I can't leave Grace alone..."
"No problem! Because a) we're going on a holiday, b) you can bring Grace along, and c) Sophia's not going to hurt you, I'll make sure of that," he says cheerfully. "Here are your passes to the resort. See you, Bright."
He gives me a charming smile, with his cute dimples. "Bye."
"He climbed out your window," Grace says faintly after I filled her in with all the details.
"He's strange, don't you think?" I say thoughtfully.
"And hot," she adds.
"You have a decently hot boyfriend, Grace."
"Whatever. Alex still Skypes me from London. When you get married, and have little hot babies-"
"GRACE!"
"And I'll be their godmother. Make sure I'll pick their clothes-"
"Shut up, Grace."
"But seriously. They'll be the most gorgeous babies, ever! Their dad is hot, their mom is beautiful-"
"Me?" I laugh a bit. "Beautiful? Look at yourself, Grace! You're practically a model!"
Grace smiles. "I look like a bag of shit next to you. Just dress up more, and you'll be pretty-er. You are honestly beautiful, Bright. Really."
