# CHAPTER 21
It's was a nice but hell week for all the girls. They're all passing different kinds of projects that requires them to pass to their professors within the week but apart from that, they're all in their different tasks.
Ashley was investigating the last unresolve case that was definitely from their opponents. She knew there's a hole in that case, she just couldn't know what is that in any particular in any event. If there's a code in the previous given verses, or what. She even made a chart inside her clubroom about the mystery of it. Starting from the places where it happened, the given clues, who's the victims, connection of the victims to them, how was the crime happened and of course, who's the possible mutual relatives from each others.
Jessica, being so observant and so much investigating, she noticed Ashley was not leaving Barden since they went back from Japan. She's even constantly sleeping in their HQ with Beca which was weird for her. She let them go and began her observation with Fat Amy who she discovered making out with a Senior year in the back of garden. She regretted it and it made her more depressed.
After the trip to Japan with special mission, Chloe was becoming distant to Beca. After all of what she witnessed—apart from having a shot—to Beca, she can't still believe that Beca could do such horrible things to people. Despite of being so sweet and lovable girlfriend to her that she even forgot the sarcasm and being distant of her, she really can't face the fact that Beca could kill 50 people within 30 minutes. She never imagine it because Beca was afraid of cockroaches! Beca even taught her how to kill people that made her innocence in such kind of horrible art of killing, disappeared. She just watched it on the movies, now she could kill people without being totally imprison.
Beca understand it since her first reaction of killing people was expected. She understand that Chloe was being distant to her for days but it's already Friday and she couldn't take it anymore.
"Wait, Chloe." Beca immediately said before Chloe totally went out of her car. She was planning to touch her for the first time in that week but she didn't. She doesn't want to make Chloe uncomfortable to her for any reason. Chloe looked at her, they aren't talking for the whole trip. "I wanna tell you something."
"What is it?" Chloe nonchalantly asked.
"I'm lying to you—but before you think I'm a liar. I wanna tell you there's a reason behi—
"What is it?" Chloe asked again.
"Uhm. I lied about... you going out of my dorm." Chloe frowned. "Just listen to me first okay? I have this kind of mechanism to avoid being hurt. This was called, sadism."
"Okay......? Elaborate please."
