Chapter 19 (Floors 46 - 47)

Floor 46

In this floor... they're inside a clock. The goal of this floor is to move through the moving clockworks to reach two buttons. Once they touch the buttons, the portal will open. Though... only two members in your party will participate in this challenge! The rest will be next to the button. Note: Only the challengers may press the button.

"Well? Who'll be the the ones doing it?" Enzo asked.

"I'm down for it!" Rosary smiled.

"Alright. Who's the other one?"

"Me, meep!" Kenji volunteered.

Kenji's PoV

We have to jump from gear to gear, right? Easy enough. But... I can't help but get nervous when I'm around her!

"A-Are you ready, meep?" I asked her.

"Ready when you are!" she answered back.

"Okay, meep. In one, two, three!"

We began jumping from clockwork to clockwork. No problems have been occurring so far, we're nailing it! Well... uhhh... that was until I lost my balance. I'm now holding on to the clockwork, preventing myself from falling. These clockworks are like moving gears, so I have to get out quick or my hands will be squished.

"Rosary! Help, meep!" I shouted for help. All I could hear was the ticking of the clockworks. Tick, tock, tick, tock, they went. Then I saw a hand reaching out towards me.

"Kenji, grab my hand!" she said. Without hesitation, I immediately grabbed onto her hand, but she seemed like she was struggling to raise me.

"Use both of your hands, meep!" She did as she was told, and I was pulled up. "Thank you, meep." She just gave off a smile.

So we went back to jumping from clockwork to clockwork. However, we heard a loud tick; and the clockworks started moving faster.

"We need to move faster." she told me. Isn't that obvious already, though?

Wait a second.

"Rosary, do you see figures over there, meep?"

"W-Why, you're right! It's probably the others!"

Third Person's PoV

Seeing the said figures, they rushed towards them.

"We're back~!" Rosary shouted.

"Welcome back!" Lucas shouted back. "Well, what are you waiting for? Press the buttons!"

Rosary went to one button, which was at the left; and Kenji went to the other one.

"In three."

"Two."

"One."

They pressed the button at the same time, and the portal opened.

Floor 47

On this floor, an archer is required to shoot the targets needed. There are four targets. The targets become harder and harder to hit.

"Sounds easy enough, meep." Kenji said.

Are you sure it's easy? Greetings, by the way. A voice spoke.

"Who's there, meep?"

It's me, Jasmine. Since you're on the last few floors I will talk to you guys through telepathy. Anyway, Kenji; your first target is rather simple. Look to your left and there's a dartboard, hit the bullseye. By the way, do not use Snipe. It's deemed as cheating.

(A/N: Italics = me talking via telepathy)

"Okay, meep." Kenji prepared his bow and arrow. He concentrated and shot the bullseye easily.

Not bad. Now for your second target. It's a moving target. Same criteria, hit the bullseye.

Again, Kenji shot the bullseye.

Ohohohoho... for your third target, shoot a bullseye out of your vision. In short... you can't see the target.

Kenji fired again, but he missed.

No worries, you have two more tries!

Kenji fired a second time, but he missed again. Luckily, on the third shot, it finally hit.

Okay. For the final target. Pick anyone from your party. If you hit the bullseye, I have a surprise for the both of you :3

"Uhhhh... I choose Rosary, meep." Kenji said.

"Ayeeee, this is getting canon!" Elianna said.

Are you sure?

"Yes, meep."

Okay, then. Rosary, I need you to stand by that tree over there. There's an apple there, place the apple on your head.

Rosary did as she was told while feeling nervous about what's going on.

Yes, it's the cliché shoot-the-apple-on-a-person's-head. Again, you only have three times. Here's the catch, if you shot three times and it didn't hit the apple, she dies. If you manage to shoot within three tries, there will be a reward for you both ^_^

Kenji's PoV

"W-What??" I was so shocked that I didn't bother to even say meep.

Seriously? Why did I even put her life at steak? I wanted to be with her in the future... Yeah, I freakin' have a crush on her. So what?

Nervously, I took an arrow and put in my bow. I was trembling so had difficulty aiming. I hesitantly fired and I missed! It hit a bit higher than normal.

"Dang it...!"

Kenji, you're too nervous! Lighten up a bit!

She's right. I sighed in nervousness, again taking another arrow. The result? It was even worse than last time! It didn't even hit the tree!

Kenji... one last shot...

I know that if I screwed up in this one, I'll lose the love of my life

"Kenji! I have faith in you, you're DEFINITELY not gonna miss this one!" I heard Rosary say.

Okay, that just boosted my motivation. Mustering all the confidence I have into this arrow, I shot it.

Aaaaand....

Third Person's PoV

The arrow went flying towards the apple!

You hit it! Now for your reward~! I noticed that you two are becoming close lately... so I grant you your dual special skill! You guys come up with it, of course. By the way, don't you guys have to say something to each other?

"Whatever do you mean?" Rosary asked.

Don't play dumb. You both know what I'm talking about. It's literally obvious already!

Rosary and Kenji looked at each other and they both were blushing furiously.

"You know what, meep? Whatever. Rosary, I freakin' like you, meep." Kenji declared with confidence.

"........" Rosary was speechless.

Rosary, say it or else I'll say it.

"I... like... you, too..."

I'm literally fangirling right now!! Anyway, the portal is open now.
