Scarlet's P.O.V.

G-Grandaughter? So am I not getting to marry Erwin?

I looked over to Erwin who's eyes were wide, "Granddaughter sir? Who is your granddaughter?"

There was a long pause from the King. He just stared at the two of us with blank expressions.

"Erwin she is sitting right next to you." The King shook his head in my direction.

Ehh?! This man is my grandfather?! It can't be! If he was my grandfather I would've known! I wouldn't have to have suffered through all this pain thinking I had no family to go to!

"G-Grandfather? How?" I asked and trembled a little.

Erwin reached across and placed his hand on top of mine to calm me down a bit.

"Your mother is my Daughter," he sighed, "You look just like her too. Down to the hair and eyes."

"With all do respect sir, my mother told me her father died a long time ago in the Survey Corps." This was still all hard to comprehend.

"Your mother and I weren't exactly on good terms. And I would prefer it if you call me Grandfather since Seth would not want to call me that and Klyde is dead... you three are my only grandchildren..." He said as he sat up In his chair.

Erwin's P.O.V.

Not Klyde again. I don't want Scarlet to keep on getting sad because of this.

"Sir. May I ask something?" I held onto Scarlet's hand tightly. Her gaze was on me.

The poor girl had so much to endure. She lost her best friend. Her parents have been dead. Her brother is dead. I don't want anymore to happen to her.

"Go ahead Erwin."

"The reason you wanted to meet with us today was to meet Scarlet isn't it?" I pondered, "If you knew her parents and brother were dead how come you didn't reach out to her?"

Scarlet's eyes were wide with anticipation. This was all new to her and probably coming at her to fast.

"Your mother completely shut me out and cut off all ties from us," he sighed and then rested his elbow on the arm of the chair, "I would use every ounce of my free time to search for you and Klyde. Seth would even help me."

"Seth..." she said quietly, "Seth was hiding from me that grandfather was alive?"

Scarlet turned towards me with tears brimming in her eyes, "This is too much Erwin..."

I understood. Scarlet's been through so much tough times in just these past few years.

"I'm sorry," the King sighed, "I just thought my granddaughter should know everything. You and Seth are my two treasures that are still with me."

Scarlet brought her hands to her face to cover her tears, "I-I'm sorry. This is to much for me..."

"Scarlet..." The King and I both said at the same time.

She stood up and then ran out of the room crying.

"Sir with all do respect I believe that was to much for her to learn in a short amount of time. She's very fragile and is still recovering from a serious injury." I stood up.

"Is that so? This is the first time meeting my granddaughter so I wouldn't know. Please go look for her. I would like to apologize to her for all of this."

I nodded and then walked out of the office and down the hall. None of the military police said they saw her pass by.

I walked around until I found myself in the empty Military Police garden. It was filled with roses and a stunning white marble fountain with an angel in the middle.
