Chapter 4: Galventer learns about Cynder's real hopes and dreams

(A.N.: First off sorry for the long title, but it's better than the one I was going to use for this chapter.)

Narrator's POV:
Welcome back to the Dragon Realm adventurers, last time we left off with Cynder talking to her online Skybook friend Neon Oryps in a chat room. Now Galventer is even more suspicious as to why Cynder isn't taking her training seriously. How will Cynder keep up the act? Enter the portal to find out as we return to the Shattered Mountains of Arc-kana.

Shattered Mountains of Arc-kana
Galventer's POV:
'My niece is up to something and I'm going to find out what it is.' I thought to myself as I went through the texts of my dark magic spell tome. Once I found a spell that turns one's victim into an agent of darkness I knew I could use that spell on any traitors or rebellious groups in the future of my kingdom. Then I called one of my cadets into my study and he stood there waiting for his orders, "What are your orders, sir?" he asked with the utmost respect for the chain of command in my army. "Dark As-per, I want you to follow my niece from the shadows and find out where her real loyalties lie. Either she's with us, or she's wanting to become one of those bastards at that forsaken dragon temple of Dia-Mound." I said, "As you wish my lord. May I ask you something before I go?" Dark As-per asked, "What is it?" I said. "If Cynder is planning on running away would you want me to find out how?" he asked me, "Yes, if we find out how she is going to escape, then we can have a trap waiting for her." I said and I let out a malicious laugh along with Dark As-per.

Time Skip
Dark As-per's POV:
As I waited in the dark shadows I saw Cynder come around a corner and headed towards the library, nothing out of the ordinary there she spent a lot of time in there. I used my shadow powers to travel into the library without being seen by Cynder or anybody else. I noticed how Cynder was looking at the sealed off section of the library that our leader Galventer declared off-limits to everyone except for him. 'She seems as if there's something in there she wants. Well, Galventer won't be pleased with this at all.' I thought to myself as Cynder left the library and headed back to her chambers. I knew that all male dragons weren't suppose to be anywhere near the female dragons chambers, per Galventer's orders, but since he gave me this mission he told me to do what ever was necessary to find out what Cynder was hiding from him and the cause. So I shrouded myself into a clear mist and silently phased through Cynder's chamber doors, I saw her looking out at the moon and she had a sad expression on her face which I have never seen before but it didn't matter to me. Then she took a glance in my direction but since I was shrouded in a clear mist that hid me in plain sight she didn't see me at all.

Cynder's POV:
'Why do I feel like I'm being watched right now?' I asked myself in thought as I looked around my room but didn't see anything out of the ordinary in my room. "Maybe I'm just being paranoid." I said to myself as I walked over to my bookcase and took out the book I was reading and laid back down in my bed to read the last page that I left off on. While I was reading I thought I heard something and looked around my room again. "Is someone there?" I called out, no response, "Maybe it's just my imagination." I said to myself then my phone beeped so I took it out and saw Neon's message.

Scarlet the Dragon: Cynder
Neon Oryps: Hey Scarlet
Scarlet: Hey Neon, what's up
Neon Oryps: Not much just chillin' in my room reading a book. You?
Scarlet: Same thing, but I feel like I'm being watched for some reason
Neon Oryps: Well, maybe its just an owl or something watching you from outside
Scarlet: Maybe
Neon Oryps: So, how are you doing at school
Scarlet: Meh, same as always. I really want to meet you but not without getting into trouble with my uncle
Neon Oryps: That bites, your uncle sounds like such a stick in the mud
Scarlet: Yeah he tends to be that way a lot
Neon Oryps: Well I have to go now Scarlet, maybe we can talk again tomorrow
Scarlet: I'd like that Neon
Neon Oryps: Alright night Scarlet
Scarlet: Night Neon
