Chapter 14 Journey to the Shattered Mountains of Ark-kana

A/N: First off, I'm sorry for not updating this story with a new chapter like I said I would. But, things have been difficult on my end so I haven't been able to spend much time to update my stories like I wanted to. But I am back now and I hope you all enjoy this chapter. Oh, I almost forgot, I don't own the rights to Skylanders. That goes to the creators of the Skylander video games where the toys come to life.

Narrator's POV:
Welcome back young adventurers to the Dragon Realm, last time we left off with the vile Malventor planning his revenge for his niece's betrayal and wrote a letter to whoever finds it telling them to do what he could not if he were to fall. But now we return to the city of Dia-Mound where Dagor has summoned his daughter Cynder, and his mentor's son Spyro for an important matter. What matter are they going to discuss? How will everything turn out in the end? The answers are only held in this chapter. Now enter the portal once again and return to the city of Dia-Mound and find out what will happen next.

Spyro's POV:
When I woke up the next morning I got out of my bed and stretched out my wings and my legs so that I could get them unstiffened. I walked over to Cynder's room and I was about to knock when I heard Cynder scream so I threw the door open and saw that Cynder was thrashing in her sleep so I knew that she was having a nightmare. I ran to the side of her bed and I placed my front right pay in hers and I could feel her shaking with fear, "Cynder, wake up. You're having a nightmare." I said and when Cynder opened her eyes I saw tears roll down her face so I gently wiped them away with my other paw and I looked into her eyes. "S-Spyro, y-your s-still here." Cynder said in between stutters as she tried to speak, "Of course I am. I wouldn't leave you no matter what." I said as she hugged me. I wrapped my arms around her to help comfort her and calm her down after waking up from her nightmare. "Spyro, will you sing to me?" Cynder asked, "Sure, Cyn." I said smiling as I went back to my room to grab my guitar real quick and I came right back to Cynder's room and I sat down on the bed with her laying next to me.

Spyro's singing POV:

  "The club isn't the best place to find a lover

Cynder's POV:
When Spyro finished singing to me I felt much better and I smiled at him and he smiled back at me, "That was really sweet Spyro." I said and I hugged him and he wrapped his arms around me and kissed my head. "Do you think that my dad will call us in to see him?" I asked, "Well, seeing as how he's the leader of Dia-Mound and is still searching for Malventor and where his secret castle is. So, I would say, yes." said Spyro. Even though I wasn't thrilled about the idea I knew that taking down Malventor is the only way to keep the Dragon Realm safe from danger. "Hey, Cyn, look it wasn't your fault that your uncle took you when you were an egg, and it wasn't your fault when your uncle cast that darkness take over spell on you either. Just know that you are in control of your own life and that whatever you do in life is your own choice." said Spyro, I smiled at him and kissed him on the lips and he kissed me back. I don't know how long we were kissing but it felt like an eternity and I was happy being with Spyro and I love him very much. Once we parted from the kiss we both went into the kitchen and got some breakfast and Spyro made sure to get me my favorite breakfast meal, scrambled eggs with golden toast and orange juice. "Thanks, Spyro." I said, "Don't mention it Cyn." Spyro said to me and kissed my head as he went to get himself some food. Once Spyro came back with his food he sat down next to me and we ate out food together and started talking about what to do until my father calls for us to speak with him and the other elders about what to do about Galventor and his apparent lack of respect and total disregard for the ancient laws to never use the dark arts against dragon kind ever again. "Hey, Spyro, what do you think the elders and my father will tell us that will make everything turn for the better?" I asked, "I don't know Cynder, but whatever it is, it's for the best and the good of all dragon kind. And with your knowledge of the dark castle of Ark-kana that is hidden deep within the shattered mountains of Ark-kana. So, from a strategic standpoint, your information might give us the advantage against Galventor." Spyro said and he hugged me when I started to cry softly. "I just wish that my uncle wasn't such a megalomaniac and power hungry." I said in between sobs as Spyro comforted me and helped me calm down. "We can't choose who our family is, but we can choose our friends." said Spyro as he held me in his embrace, I smiled and giggled at what he just said, "What, it's true." he said and I just smiled at him. "I know, and it's an amazing thing that you are my friend Spyro." I said.

Time Skip
Spyro's POV:
When I woke up I found Cynder sleeping on my chest and I wiped my eyes and I noticed a note on the coffee table and it had Dagor's handwriting on it, so I carefully reached over to it without waking Cynder up and opened the note to read it.

'Spyro, I would like for you to bring Cynder to the temple so that we can let her tell us what she knows about Galventor's dark castle in the Shattered Mountains of Ark-Kana. Also, I want you to be included in the team that will go there to learn more about their defenses and what the younglings there are like after all this time. Please come to the temple as soon as possible. Signed, Dagor Nightshade'

After I finished reading the note from Dagor I placed it on the coffee table and I gently shook Cynder's arm to wake her up. "Cyn, its time to wake up. Your father summoned us." I said softly, "Mmm, two more minutes." she groaned, "Cynder, your father is not going to be happy if he finds out that you are still sleeping." I said, "Your a jerk you know that Spyro." said Cynder, "I've been called worst things." I said remembering my time as a cadet in the dragon temple. "Sorry, it's just that, thinking about all those brainwashed dragons at the dark castle just makes me nervous about what might happen if they find me." said Cynder, "Hey, as long as I'm around no one will ever get near you or hurt you ever again." I said.
