Ella's POV

The kiss was fantastic. Not forceful, not rushed, but slow and sweet. Perfect.

It was this kiss that caused the guilt to hit me once more. I didn't pull back though. I just tried to assure myself that it was alright. That Jonathan was gone and I had to move on.

Toby released me from the kiss and smiled. Gosh his smile was magnificent.

"Told you I could tell the future."

"Yo we need more bread!" Jack called from the kitchen.

"And some sodas." Tim added.

"And milk!" Gabe yelled.

"Looks like we need to go shopping." Toby said to me.

He motioned me to follow him to the living room where Tim, Jackie and Jack were sitting on the couch talking and Gabe sat in the seat aimed at the door, a gun in his lap.

"Ella and I are going down to that little store by the Stars Gas Station. We'll be back in at most an hour." he said grabbing his pistol.

I slung my quiver of arrows over my shoulder and grabbed my bow, following Toby out the door. I heard Jackie yell 'be safe' at the last minute.

"How far is it?" I asked.

"Not far at all. Only about a twenty minute walk. I mean for you considering you're so slow." he said, smirking.

"Not as slow as you." I retorted, punching him lightly in the shoulder.

Toby laughed and then he was off, running ahead of me on the sidewalk. I followed, pushing my speed to catch up with him. We raced all the way there and arrived five minutes later, sweaty and out of breath.

"You're pretty fast, Turner." I said, between breaths.

"Back at you." He replied, equally as wiped out.

Toby opened the door and we both walked into the store. It wasn't very big. Some things had been thrown onto the floor and I wondered if zombies were responsible.

It all happened so fast. A glint of metal flying through the air, my own voice yelling Toby's name, his scream of sheer pain. I rushed over leaning down to him to examine his wound. A small knife stuck out of his thigh, blood beginning to soak through his kaki shorts.

"Oh my gosh, Toby." it was all I could manage to say.

"I'm okay. What happ- Ella!" he shoved me away from him as another knife flew past the place I was a few seconds ago, and stuck into the wall. It would have gone into my head, if Toby hadn't pushed me out of the way.

He still sat against the wall holding his leg, and withholding from screaming in pain. I heard some shuffling from somewhere in the store. A man emerged from behind one of the shelves, a knife like the others in his hand. He was tall, with short brown hair. His eyes were a beautiful light blue. I thought I was hallucinating. This couldn't be.

"Ella?" The man asked looking at me.

My mouth was dry and my mind seemed to have forgotten every word in the English language. This was a dream. None of this was real. I would soon wake up in Toby's bed and see him sleeping in the chair next to me.

Toby.

I looked over at him. He was still clutching his bloodied thigh, the red seeping onto his hands. I recognized a look of confusion mixed with the pained expression.

My voice was cracked and I could barely get the word out. The name. The name I had used multiple times in the past two years. The name of the person that changed my life. The person I thought, no I knew, I'd never see again. I was wrong because the person stood before me, waiting for a reaction.

"J-Jonathan?"
