Toby's POV
It made me feel horrible to finally know Ella's past. She'd been through so much that I didn't realize. And I felt like such a jerk for making her feel so pressured in the decision on whether we should be friends or more.
"Don't feel pressured to make a decision. Ella I know this is hard and I can wait." I told her.
She brushed a few stray hairs from her face without responding. A question popped into my mind.
"Why did you come back anyway?" I asked.
"Well, I was on my way to a store to find some stuff, but I couldn't stop thinking about leaving. I felt bad so I decided to turn back and at least say goodbye." she explained.
"Then you went all Katniss and saved my life." I finished.
"Yep." she said, laughing.
Man, was her laugh perfect. I noticed she was soaking from the rain. I had sort of forgotten about the rain pouring down from the clouds, I was so caught up in the moment.
"Do you wanna go back inside?" I asked her, standing up.
"Yeah, I'm kinda wet." she said.
"I realize that." I joked, causing her to giggle.
I held out my arm and she grabbed in. We walked together into my house.
When we got in, I grabbed two towels from the laundry room, throwing one over my shoulder and wrapping the other around Ella.
"Thank you." she said.
"No problem." I said, taking my towel and rubbing quickly through my hair to dry it. Ella laughed.
"What?" I asked, smiling.
"Your hair." she said, still laughing.
Apparently my hair was messy from me drying it.
"Shut up." I said, poking her in the nose.
Ella stood on her tiptoes and pecked me on the cheek. She gave me a small smile then blushed and looked at the ground.
"You can do better than that." I said with a smirk.
"You'll just have to wait." she said, copying my smirk.
