Henry's POV
I watched as Eva stormed out of the room other her friends following her. How did everything go from 100 to zero. I just don't get it.

I looked at Dylan he shrugged and turned away. I can't believe Darlene will say uch a thing maybe it was a misunderstanding.

I go out of the cafeteria to the hallway where I see Darlene and her friends at her locker. They are laughing about something and I get an I'll feeling in my stomach.

I walk over to her and I think one of the girls told her because she turned to face me. She started walking towards me and we met half way.

Hello Henry she said in a flirty voice.

I don't feel like greeting you I say to her.

Why? Are you not here to reconcile?

No I will never forget that. Why will you ever think of spreading such a rumor.

But it's true baby she says batting her fake eyelashes.

You know it is not true Darlene. Why did you do it?

Well how can you break up with me. We were met for each other she says taking a step towards me.

What do you want? I ask her.

Let's get back together and your little nerdy friend's rumor will be gone as yesterday she says.

I will manage she slurrs.

I can't believe this of you and since you made everyone think I had something to do with Eva I will make everyone know we broke up I said and started going. I stopped and faced her and Darlene I will NEVER get back together with you I said stressing the never.

I was going she called. Henry? You will regret breaking up with me and so will that girl.

She has a name Eva and I will protect her I say and continue walking. I hear scoff and foot steps.

Through out the day I keep looking for Eva but I didn't see her. Even at lunch I didn't see Emma or Bennett. Their usual table was empty. I waited anxiously for the day to end.

I rush to her house and knock. She is not at home. I rush to the national library but her boss says that she called in sick. I don't have a clue of where she can be  right now.  So I call her but it keeps going to voicemail.

I have to message her maybe she will answer.

Me:Eva where are you?
I wait the message ticks but she doesn't reply. In frustration I drive to the lake side. In frustration I throw stones in the water. I don't even know when I start to cry but I feel a tear tickling down my face.

I clean it and sit down. Why do I care I don't know but I just still care.

I sighed when it was dark and went into the car. I recall the events with Jolene my first girlfriend well she never made it to girl friend stage because of rejected her. Now I feel how bad it hurts. Hers must hurt worse because hers was based on love but mine is based on friendship.

I drive slowly till I get home. I go in and straight to bed not bothering with any dinner. As I close my eyes I see her face she looked so sad this morning and the tears. I can't believe I hurt her. I feel so bad.

Thursday morning
I wake up with a headache. I sit up in bed I feel like calling in sick at school today but I know better. She may show up at school and I can't pass the opportunity to start I am sorry so I bath quickly and leave for school early.

I wait at the parking lot until I see Emma's car pull out. They all come out and start heading towards the school.

Eva I scream jogging towards them.

She stops looks at me then starts walking faster than before.

I catch up with her.

Eva I know you completely hate me now, I am not asking you to tutor me or be my friend I am just asking you to forgive me. You told me she will spread rumours and I just shrugged it off as if I can protect you from it. I just want to ask for your forgiveness nothing more. I will never ever trouble you if you forgive me. I said

Henry she doesn't want to talk to you Emma said putting her hand on Emma's arm. Henry she came to school bold today but it doesn't mean she isn't hurting.

I know Emma, I am just sorry.

I forgive you Henry I hear a tiny whispers from Eva.

Thank you Eva I said smiling a bit.

Can we go in now Bennett says.

Actually can I have a word with Henry alone Eva asked.

Are you sure Emma asked her and she nodded. Emma squeezed her hands before walking in with Bennett. When they were out of hear shot.

I was already considering having you as a friend she says in a small voice.

I am sorry was all I could say.

I know, it's kind of your fault and at the same time it is not. You dated her after all but still you didn't know what she can do.

I...

It's okay Henry. Tomorrow Emma will drop me off at your house at 4 and she will pick me up at 7 she says glancing at me.

I told you you don't have to I say to her.

I know, but I am doing it for the team and the school. You are a good player and you should play. We have to win the match and you are out wining shot so I can do something for this school that no one will appreciate.

Thank you I whisper and I see her nod before heading inside the school. Just in time I see Dylan's car pull out.

Hey dude he yells and jog over to give me a hug.

Hey bro I say hugging him back.

Darlene is off social media now. He says smiling.

Why?

Well I told our parents of her attitude. You would not believe she took a tub of ice cream and pretended to be heartbroken from the heartbreak. I told my mom and they seized well her gadgets he said still smiling.

Thanks man, I don't know why but I was glad.

No problem bro he said as we made our way to the school.

Why wasn't she with you?

Well part of her punishment is she has to take the bus. He laughs.

I laugh with him and just then Darlene passes by shooting us death glances. We shrug and laugh the more.

Eva said she will still tutor me I told him.

She has a good heart he says as we walk to our lockers for our notes.

I think Darlene got what she deserved.
