"I've only dated one person" Emma murmured quietly. I knew that. "He broke me and I don't think I can ever do back to him again"
"Why" James asked
"it's not your turn" Emma replied.
"Just answer the damn question" James almost shouted. "And it's my turn I'm after Eva"
"Because..... Because he broke me beyond repair." she screamed.
It just got weird and I mean so weird.
As if on cue Dylan and Emerald with Jolene and Chris stood up immediately. "We will be in the kitchen getting drinks" Dylan mumbled and left us with Emma and James.
"It wasn't on purpose" James said lowly.
I nudged Henry so we can leave them alone to say what is on their mind. As we stand up to join the other guys in the kitchen Emma stands too.
"I can't be here with this heart breaker o can't stand him not at all" she says pulling my hand to the kitchen. I silently use my eyes to bed Henry stay with James because he understands nods and move towards him.
"Where are the drinks?" Emma asked frantically opening all the cabinets.
"Calm down" I say holding her forearm. I made a mistake I didn't know it was this bad. My God I have messed up big time.
"I need drinks" she says tears siping out of her eyes. I hold her and pull her to me. She was worse than this when she had the trauma and I forgot everything and rushed to help my boyfriend because he said so.
"Shhh" I say whispering to her ears and she shakes with tears in my arms. I mouth a small "sorry" to everyone who is watching the unfolding scene before them. They all nod before I drag Emma to the room.
"I'm so sorry I say as soon as we were inside. I thought that..... " I trail off
"Eva I hate him but I still love him so much he was so loving and he took so much care of me." she sobbed.
"I'm sorry" was all my nerdy brain could come up with right now
"It's not your fault" she says in between hiccups. I stare at this girl and I'm so sad I awakened buried feelings.
"It's my fault if I had not asked you then I mean you won't be like this" I say holding her.
"I am so sorry I mean I just ruined your party" she said popping her tears.
"There is nothing like that. You are sister and you come first" I say holding her close.
"Let's go back" she said pulling out of my grip.
"Are you sure?" I ask her because I know I can't manage.
"Of course I can't allow him to dampen my mood." she said pulling me up my feet. I mean she is so brave. "You just got engaged we can't sit here and be crying let's go have fun" she said pulling me out of the room.
"Okay?" I said with uncertainty.
"I didn't know I hurt her so much" I hear James voice from the living room. Emma heard too because she froze
"You need to apologize to her" Henry said to him.
"I know I know I just don't know how to" James said again.
"It's easy maybe you can start from where you messed up with her" Henry replied. I saw Emma stir and start walking in their direction I follow her.
"Let's carry on with the party" Emma said announcing her presence.
"Now is your chance" Henry said to James giving him a pat on the shoulders.
"Finally!" Zack exclaimed putting on the music and there was dancing and smiling with each other. We talked in low tunes.
After a while I saw Emma and James coming back in. I didn't even know when the left the room. They were not chatting as if they had been friends but Emma had a smile on her face and I was so happy for her.
Even though they may not end up together at least she was smiling.
"Looks like they made up" Henry said sneaking behind me.
"Yeah" I chuckle when his hands went to my waist.
"I can recall that someone told me this was a bad idea" he said with a little laugh.
"I thought it was but turns out you are smarter than when I first tutored you" I said and he laughed.
"Well look this guy is going to graduate with second class upper because someone never gave up on him" he said pulling me closer.
"I'm glad I'm that person" I said.
"What makes you think you are the one?" he asked.
"Maybe because I'm the one you are holding." I murmur and turn to face him. "How are Maeve and Ethan? Why are they not here?" I ask stroking his chin.
"Ethan's surgery is tomorrow" he says and I smile at him.
"He will make it" I say. "He is very strong"
"I know I'm just sacred okay. It's normal" he said.
"Very normal" I said in a teasing voice.
"Hey you can't be sarcastic on a day like" he says.
"And why not?" I ask poking his nose slightly.
"Because I just asked you to marry me and you said yes" he said grinning widely.
"Hmm, then what do you suggest we do?"
"We can ditch this party and go some where nice" he says wiggling his eyebrow.
"I will pass" I say trying to free myself from his grip.
"You are no fun" he says pouting.
"I have been told" I say laughing. "Let's go keep our guest company I say pulling his hands.
"Let me see the ring" Jolene said as she and Emerald ran to me with Emma in tail. They were fanning on the ring and then suddenly I was lost in the company of my friends. The ones I have because of Henry.
