CHAPTER 2

Phana's POV

After Wayo punch I realized that I have never been a good father to my daughter.

"Why are you pulling a long face like you used to do? Smile" Mr. Panitchayasawad said to me.

"Don't pull a long face all the time. You'll scare kids." He added.

"Mr. Panitchayasawad" I say to him.

"Okay, later, after having an IV, go get the medicine. You can take your daughter home."

"Sir, Thanks." I say to him.

"You're welcome."

"I never thought Wayo is your son." I say to him trying to converse with him a little.

"I never thought that the cold-hearted father in his mouth is you either." He says. I never thought that he will actually call me that.

"I'm not suitable for being a father." I say to him leaning the wall.

"Actually, every person learns how to be a parent after having a child. Don't be upset." He pats my head trying to comfort me. I just smiled at him.

"I'm sorry, My son is really sensitive to this kind of thing. Maybe because he only has a mother who's always busy at work. I haven't taken care of him well since he's small. Making him feel lonely, and got hurt." He added and I just look at him really confused.

"Maybe it's the reason why he accepted this job, because your daughter's situation is really similar to his." He says looking so sad.

After that talk with Mr. Panitchayasawad, I bought the medicines that is needed for my daughter and go back to the hospital to pick her up. She's already asleep as I put her in her bed and watch sleep, then I suddenly remember what Wayo told me at school.

"How the hell she can tell you if you're not home? You're her one and only family member. How can you be so cold to her? You've been a kid before, don't you know how it feels when you want parents to be around you?"

"Pa, where is Brother Wayo?" I heard my daughter ask me.

"He went home. Does it still hurt?" I ask her.

"A little bit. Let me tell you Pa. He carried me to the car and he sent me to hospital. He even cried, but instead of crying, I comforted him. He could not find you so he cried. Fortunately, you came. I don't feel any pain." She said as I am about to cry for being a stupid father to my daughter.

"Will Brother Wayo come tomorrow?" She ask.

"You like him?"

"Yes, I like his Japanese rice omelet. He would do the homework with me after dinner and signed the name on the teacher-parent communication log after doing the homework. Picked me up with a bike. Did grocery shopping." She said while smiling.

"If you wanna sleep, just sleep." I say to her.

"No, I wanna talk to you. I got full marks on the test this week, I was planning to give you the jelly, but you didn't come home so I ate it." She said.

"Papa is sorry. If you have jelly, remember to tell papa, okay. Papa will come home and eat." I say to her then she fell sleep.

I walk out from her room, and I heard someone is trying to unlock the door. I walk towards it and I heard someone says "People have already slept at this hour, right?" Then went to watch who it is and saw Wayo standing in front of our door.
