It was a dark and stormy night. The rain fell hard to the ground, leaving everything a slimy, muddy mess. The animals and humans had all gone into hiding, shielding themselves from the pouring rain. Lighting flashed all around, followed closely by booming thunder that shook the earth. No one dared to be out in this weather. It was too dangerous.

Except for one person.

More like animal.

Wolves.

But, these weren't ordinary wolves. They were as big as horses and much more powerful, able to kill any animal with one bite.

They were werewolves.

They existed to keep the human race safe from bad forces such as vampires, demons, angels gone rogue, rabid animals, and people who just weren't good at all.

Their teeth were sharper than daggers, their claws large and sharp enough to cut bones. Their fur kept them warm in the coldest of weather, and cool in the hottest.

Being werewolves, they are originally humans. And being humans with this extraordinary gift, they had to do everything in their power to keep from being seen in their wolf forms. Once one of them has been seen, they have to go into hiding until rumors stop, and Alpha wouldn't be too happy about that. That would stop all pack life until the coast was clear. Or also, if they were spotted, they would be hunted. That being said, it wasn't easy being a werewolf.

Each wolf was a unique color. Sure, you would have black wolves and white wolves and grey wolves and brown, but there was always something about them that made them easy to tell apart- whether it be different shades of color or unique markings.

Most werewolves phase into their wolves around the age of 16. Then when they turn 18, they find their mate. Their soulmate. A mate for life.

Back to the group of wolves in the middle of a terrible storm.

Their paws and bellies coated brown from the mud and their backs and faces wet from the rain, the wolves trekked on. They had a mission, given to them by their Alpha. And you do as Alpha says, no matter what.

This group was a part of a rather powerful pack; Tundra Pack.

But this pack isn't like any others. It has an "exception".

The wolf leading the group, Jack Hudson, a large dark brown male with gold eyes, is the Alpha's second in command. He is a Beta. The dark ash/grey male wolf behind him is the Delta, Will Merger, the Alpha's third in command. After that, the wolves are just warriors/helpers for the pack. The light brown male, Henry Hansen, the white female, Faith Duvall, the light black/grey male, Seth Colin, and the chestnut brown female, Holly Chester make up the rest of this small group. No one pays attention to the young and small multi-silver female wolf, Taylor Hannah. The exception.

She is the youngest phaser, being 14. All her pack mates were 17 and older. Because of the age gap, they paid her no mind. The pack thought of her as the Omega, the lowest ranking wolf in a pack. She was young, small, clumsy and oddly colored.

In her human form, she had beautiful green eyes and long blonde hair. She was around 5'7, and she preferred wearing leggings and sweatshirts over shorts and tanktops.

Her wolf, though, was overall a dark grey. Her back was almost completely black, her sides a light grey before turning black down her legs. Her front paws were white, as was her tail and chest. Her tail tipped black, as did her ears. Her nose was a dark grey, and the rest of her face was a light silver. Every now and again there was a sign of some brown mixed in with her silver, but nonetheless, her pelt wasn't a normal pelt. And the wolves didn't like anything that wasn't normal.

She was skinny and not very strong, but that was normal for an early shifter. She had room to grow.

If only her pack thought that way.

Her Alpha never said a bad word about anyone in his pack. He was very respectful and noble. The Beta and Delta kept their thoughts to themselves as well, but all the other wolves talked freely about how they felt about one another. Taylor was the only wolf they didn't like.

The pack liked to chase her around the territory, and if they caught her, they would bite at her and claw at her. She had scars to prove it. Scars her parents nor Alpha would never see nor hear about.

But nevertheless, Taylor kept a positive attitude. This was easy for her because she loved being in her wolf form. Her wolf, Azalea, was always sweet and supportive. She gave Taylor advice as to where to go to hide from the pack when they chased her. She helped Taylor fulfill her tasks given to her by the Alpha in record time, which was one of the reasons why the pack didn't like her. They thought she was showing off and sucking up to the Alpha.

If only they knew who she really was. A sweet, loving, caring, adventurous, noble, loyal, and fierce 14 year old.

Taylor, move those lanky legs faster! Alpha expects us home in 10! The chestnut female, Holly, barked at the Omega through their mind link. Taylor moved her legs faster, stumbling over a twig in the process. Everyone laughed at her through the link.

Why does Alpha make us take her? She's too damn clumsy to keep up! She's no help at all. Henry, the light brown male, looked at his dark brown Beta for an answer. Jack sighed.

She's a part of this pack, and just like all of you, she has pack duties. The Alpha's decisions are the Alpha's decisions, and you should never question him. The Beta turned his gold eyes to meet Henry's green ones, and Henry backed off, knowing he'd gone a little too far.

The rest of the time, the pack walked in silence.

And of course, no one noticed Taylor dropping behind. Her legs were extremely tired from the trek, and she was slopping all over in the mud. Her blue eyes were trained onto the ground in front of her, watching where she placed each paw. It's wasn't until she looked up several minutes later that she realized; the group was gone.

Her blue eyes darted all around her, taking in the dark forest. Her wolf eyes gave her the ability to see very clearly at night. As she spun a 360, she saw no sign of the pack. She sniffed the air, but of course, the rain washed the group's scent away as soon as they moved. She then looked to the mud for tracks, but due to the horrific downpour, everything was washed away.

How long have they been out of sight? Did she stray off the path? Should she howl for them? No, howling wouldn't help. You couldn't hear anything over the thunder and rain.

Did they take off and leave as a prank? No no, Beta nor Delta would do that.

Would they?

Azalea? You there? Taylor asked her wolf, panic slowly starting to seep into her blood.

Yes, I am here. And I am sorry to say, we are very much lost. No need to fear, though, all you need to do is keep moving until you find a creek. Follow the creeks' flow down and it should lead to civilization. The wolf's soft voice was soothingly reassuring, and Taylor followed her words.

I hope a creek shows up soon. Taylor thought to herself sadly as she started loping deeper into the woods, not knowing she was leaving the trail far behind.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is an odd start but I hope it kinda gets the idea across as to what these werewolves are about. I promise this is all leading up to more intense things, but I decided to give some background as to how Taylor was brought up first before diving into the action.
While providing this background, I will try and move it along as quick as I can while still making it captivating :D easier said than done, but I will sure try!
Thanks for reading so far!
