Felicity's POV

I awoke the next morning to a surprisingly kind of quiet atmosphere. The rain wasn't too bad, there wasn't any loud thunder, and I could barely hear the wind; it was definitely much better than last night.

I looked over to see Caleb still sleeping next to me; I had forgotten for a moment that I came to him last night. He had a brown curly lock of hair covering his eye, his mouth slightly open as he slept peacefully. I smiled before quietly getting up and walking over to the window.

As I approached the window, I slowly opened the curtain to look outside. It was still raining and the wind was blowing, but like I said it wasn't as bad as last night.

"Hm?" I turned around to see Caleb waking up.

"Sorry, did the light wake you up?" I asked once I noticed the light from the curtain was directly on him.

"It's fine," he said groggily as he sat up. I walked over and sat on the bed next to him.

"Well good morning, Caleb," I smiled.

He smiled back. "Good morning, Felicity. Did you sleep well?"

"Actually, I did. Did you?"

He nodded in response. "Yeah, you're pretty good company."

I felt myself slightly blush. "Thanks."

Just then, my phone vibrated on the nightstand. I looked and saw that it was a text from Mum, saying that they were going to open the roads in a little while and she and Dad would be coming back home.

"Oh goodie! Mum and Dad will be coming soon!" I exclaimed.

"That's great! And maybe that means I can get going home soon," Caleb said.

"Yeah, when they open the roads you should be able to," I replied. "But in the meantime, would you like some breakfast?"

"Sure," he responded. We both began to head downstairs and we found Oscar already drinking a glass of water.

"Good morning you two," he greeted. "The power still isn't on, unfortunately."

"Oh," I responded. "So I guess we can't have anything microwaveable for breakfast."

"How about cereal?" Caleb suggested.

"Okay, but we only have Crispix and Cinnamon Toast Crunch," I said.

"I'll take Cinnamon," he said. I handed him the box and pulled out two bowls and spoons. I poured myself some Crispix and once Caleb poured his cereal, I took our boxes and put them away before sitting at the kitchen island.

"Can you believe we start school tomorrow?" Caleb asked.

"I know right? It's crazy," I replied.

"Extremely," I looked over to see Oscar now sitting next to Caleb. I rolled my eyes; why did he have to butt in on everything?

"Oscar, aren't your parents worried sick about you?" I asked him in as nice of a tone as I could muster.

"Oh, yeah, I guess so," he said with a shrug. "But it's not like I could call them, we don't have electricity—"

"But the roads are going to open any minute now! I'll bet it's safe enough for you to walk home," I said as I stood up and grabbed Oscar's hands. I started walking towards the door and as I opened it, I said, "Tell your family I said hello, and that next time I'd like you to ask before you come into my home. Good day!"

"But—" before Oscar could finish, I shut the door behind him.

"Don't you think that was a little rude, Felicity?" Caleb asked as he took a spoonful of cereal.
