Chapter Three
I survived three classes so far. Finally lunch. Thank you Jeezus. I wasn't hungry so I didn't go to the cafeteria. I looked around for Stacey though but couldn't find her so I gave up and sat under a shady tree. I put my bag on the side and started sketching again. I'm not the best artist but I guess you can say I have some skill. I was drawing her eyes and finishing up the lips. No matter what I always end up drawing her. I can't stop thinking about her. With every passing day I miss her more than the day before. I just want her to come back. I get my prisma color pencils and begin coloring in her long, beautiful, wavy brown hair. Then I picture her eyes in my head and color them a light hazel with flecks of gold and green. I look at the drawing, beauti- then my thought was interrupted.
"Hey there artist" i look up from the drawing and recognize Stacey.
"Oh hi."
"Who you drawing there?" I close my sketch book and motion toward my backpack.
"Nope! Just let me see it. Please?" She begged.
"Fine. Just don't laugh okay?"
"I promise!" She held her pink finger, wiggled it and smiled. So I handed her my sketchbook, showing her the drawing.
"Oh my god. You're amazing! Who's this supposed to be anyways? She looks quite young for you?"
"It's a girl I used to know when I was younger."
"Ooh okay makes sense now. What happened to her? Don't tell me she died!!"
"Nooo why would you even think that?"
"I don't know that's what usually happens in books."
I look over at her, eyebrows raised
"What kind of books do you read??" Emphasizing the you a little more.
"Umm lots actually, genres from mystery to horror. I just have a love for reading. It's like discovering a new journey, with each chapter unravels a new adventure."
"Wow. Never thought of it like that. I don't read much. My passion is art. It expresses what I can not describe in words"
"To me this drawing tell me that your missing this person whoever she might be."
"Possibly." The bell rings and it's off to fifth hour. "Guess I'll see you later?"
"What class do you have?! Maybe we can walk together!"
"Umm I have geometry."
"Isn't that a sophomore class?"
"Yeah" I laughed nervously and ran my hand through my hair.
"So you're a smart cookie aren't ya?"
"Cookies aren't smart they're sweet."
"Tsk..Smart ass" she rolled her eyes and playfully pushed me.
"Maybe so but at least I'm not dumb" I winked at her and smiled. "I'm going to be late I'll catch you later."
"Okie dokie I'll see ya later!" She waved and ran to the other building while I walked towards the S building. I searched for room S58. The class went by quickly. I'm just glad I like math so at least I pay attention in that class. Two more classes. This day is soo long..
