Chapter 9

Joshua's POV

*calling mom*

Joshua: "Hey mom!"

Mom: "Hey son! what's up?"

Joshua: "Can our friend stay at our house?"

Mom: "Sure, who is it?"

Joshua: "Her name is Y/N"

Mom: "Your sister?"

Dad: "What about your sister?"

Joshua: "Mom. Dad. She's just our friend"

Mom: "Oh alright, if you say so. I'll clean her room."

Joshua: "Thank you! See you later! Love you!

Mom: "Bye! Love you!

*end call*

I spent my whole afternoon at a bookstore, reading books over and over again. As I returned the book, another book fell out of the shelf and stated 'You'll soon find what you've lost'.

I put back the book as Wonwoo approached me and asked, "Want to get some cold drinks?" I agreed and got an iced coffee for everyone.

We arrived at the hotel but waited at the bus with S.coups, Dino, Woozi, Wonwoo, The8, Jun, and Mingyu. Then Vernon and Y/N arrived. It's 5:10 pm and Jeonghan, Hoshi, DK, and Seungkwan arrived.

"Where did you all go and what took you all 10 minutes late?" Asked S.coups.

"We were shopping new clothes and trying them out," Hoshi explained.

"Then Jeonghan Hyung fell asleep in the fitting room," Seungwan added.

"Ya!" Jeonghan pushed Seungkwan in a playful way.

"Seriously, this dude can sleep anywhere," Woozi said as everyone laughed and finally sat on the bus.

I rang the doorbell as my mom opened the door. She hugged me and whispered, "She looks like your sister!"

"Mom!" I whispered back.

The boys had sat on the sofa and turned on the TV. Vernon and I helped Y/N unpack her things as Mingyu, The8, Woozi, and Dino helped at the kitchen.

As I helped unpack, I noticed her luggage across the room with a glittery bag that caught my attention. 'Why does this bag looks so familiar?' I thought to myself as I walked towards the luggage. I took the glittery star bag and opened it. I saw a family picture "No wa-"

"Y/N is this yours?"

"Hey! Don't touch that!" She yelled as she grabbed the bag and the picture from me.

"Is everything ok?" My mom and dad asked as they entered the room.

"Y/N, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to-" Her eyes started filling up with tears as she looked back and forth through the picture and my parents.

"Sweetie, is everything ok?" My mom asked as she slowly goes towards Y/N.

Her tears slowly came rolling down her face feeling so confused.

"Why does the picture look like you all?"
She asked sounding so confused.

"What picture?" My mom asked.

"This," I pulled out my phone and showed them.

"Wh-y do you have m-my f-family's picture?!" She asked wiping her tears.

"Where did you get that glittery bag?"

"My adopted mother told me I was wearing it when they found me wandering around New York" she explains.

"New York. December 25. Christmas Day, when our daughter was lost," my dad remembered.

"Wait," My mom paused us all. "May you kindly pull up your sleeve?"

Y/N slowly lifted up her sleeve as my mom gasped. A scar was on her left elbow. "Y/N, my dear." My mom called out crying.

"My dear.. My daughter.." Dad followed after.

Tears started to fill up my eyes. "Y/N, my sister, I'm sorry! I missed you! I love you!" I hugged her so tight.

Y/N's POV
"Mom? Dad? Big Bro?" I cried as I hugged them all. I never knew I would ever find them and if I did, I thought it would take a long time. It felt so good telling them about how I grew up, what kind of family kept me and what things I loved doing. We shared moments of our lives that we didn't get to do.

"Oh, I totally forgot! I was cooking and the boys are downstairs!" We laughed and got up and rushed downstairs.

They all gathered around with food on the table. We all sat down except for my brother, Joshua.

"Everyone, I would like to introduce you to my sister, Y/N!"

"Huh?!" Seventeen members tilted their heads in confusion, but all throughout dinner we explained what had happened. Including, my adopted family, the time in New York, and of course the pink glittery star bag.

Vernon's POV
"Think of something. A connection that will bring those two together." Minghao advised as we headed to the hotel, leaving the airport.

"Hyung! I got it! T-The bag! The bag that Joshua gave his sister."

We arrived at the hotel to get her things and met with the members at the bus. "Did you get all your things?"

"Yes, I think so," she replied.

"Where's your pink glittery star bag?"

"Don't worry, it's in there." She pointed to one of her luggage.

As Y/N unpacked her backpack on the bed, and Joshua at the corner, I opened Y/N's luggage and saw the pink glittery star bag that I believe Joshua gave to her. "Guys I'll just go to the restroom," I said as I left the room and left the luggage open.

"Ok," they both replied as I left the room and headed downstairs.

I was with the members as we heard Y/N shout. Both of Joshua's parents went up and the other members wanted to follow, but I held them back as Minghao held the other members who were in the kitchen.

I stood there with the guilt settling deep in my chest, but I knew this was for the best.
