They were there for them since the beginning.Red Velvet has been a fan of BTS even before since 2012. When BTS was at rock bottom, underrated, mocked and underestimated. Wendy, Seulgi, Irene and Joy would jam to them during their trainee days. Some of the other trainees would ridicule them for listening such a 'horrible song from a terrible company's but they didn't care. They would always keep supporting them no matter what.
The four of them would go to their free gigs at a cafe nearby, enjoying their songs and maybe admiring them in general. To them, their songs have stories in every one of them. It was as if they can know what they're going through by listening to their songs. Their dances, voices, soundtracks, everything was beautiful and seeing them struggle in the music industry is unacceptable. Yet, they can't do anything about it. Almost like seeing your loved one dying from sickness but you couldn't do anything to help so you just stand there helplessly as they struggle to survive. All you could do is give words of encouragement.
And that's what the four did one day.
________________"Are you sure about this, Unnie?" Joy enquired as they watched BTS getting ready to leave.
"Of course we have to do this, look at them," Seulgi answered, gesturing to the the band of seven.
The boys had glum looks on their faces, bags under their eyes were evident. They seem tired, physically and mentally, but mostly mentally. Tired of the free gigs, tired of all the mockery, tired of all the insults the media has thrown at them, tired of everything. The looks written on their faces seems like they've almost given up. They're reconsidering whether the idol life is attainable. Maybe the dream will only stay as a dream after all. Only visible in mind but will never be a reality. A failure. That's what they are.
The boys appears to have not acknowledge the four girls walking towards them since they're busy packing their equipment and too depressed to notice. It wasn't until Seulgi spoke up when they're finally aware of their presence.
"U-uhm, excuse me. Bangtan sunbae-nim, right?"
The boys looked up to see who was the owner of the (angelic) voice and boy, were they stunned. Four girls, standing before them, looking like an absolute godsend. It was as if Lord took its time and care to create these beauties. The sun was shining down on them, making it look like they were angels. Jaws were dropped and the boy band was so mesmerized by their enticing appearance that they wouldn't even notice nor care if flies were in their mouths.
The girls, on the other hand, turned vermilion red by the stares the boys were giving but they had a mission to accomplish.
"We just wanted to say that we're a big fan you guys," Irene continue, still a bit red from the stares
If the girls' presence weren't fictive enough, they are fans of them?! Four girls, whose visuals could rival a female idol, are fans of them? They must have did something heroic in their past life to deserve something like this happening to them.
"We've noticed that you guys are down in the dumps lately, seeing how the media has been treating you," Joy was elbowed by Wendy, probably because she was being too straightforward.
Ouch, that stings.
"Forget about what she said, what we really mean is, don't let the media break you down, you guys are amazing," Wendy gifted them a smile so bright that they probably had to cover their eyes because of the brightness that was radiating of it.
Are they hearing correctly? The boys swore they needed a hearing aid. Them and amazing in the same goddamn sentence?! What is going on with the world?
"Don't bring yourselves down too much. We believe that you can be an idol, we have faith that you could, every cloud has silver lining, right?" Irene chimes in.
Before they could do anything, the girls spoke up again.
"We've got to go now, something came up," Seulgi said as she just looked up from her phone. The girls were standing in a line, as if they were trying to do something.
"BTS, hwaiting!" The girls cried with enthusiasm. After the cry, they immediately dispersed into the crowd, disappearing in a blink of an eye.
It was then the boys finally snapped out of their reverie. They were about hold the girls back but they were long gone, maybe never to be seen again.
"D-did you see what just saw," the eldest stuttered out.
"We have fans, hyung. We have fans!" The maknae of the group exclaimed at the end, shaking the leader's shoulders.
"They believe that we could be idols," The leader muttered, having a small smile drawn on his face, still taking in the previous statement.
Suddenly, the shortest one out of the group stood up.
"If we can't do it for us let's do it for them, can we?" He inquired, having a determined look on his face.
The other six looked at each other, all of them felt a surge of motivation flow through them. Lord has given them hope when they thought the latter was lost. It was the motivation they needed. The second chance. And they're not gonna waste it.
Just as they start leave, yet again, another girl came up towards them. The girl looks like a few years younger than the youngest member. She walked up to them with her head down while holding a small box with both hands. She was also immensely short that they had to literally look down at her.
"E-excuse me, I-I would like to give this to Jungkook oppa if you wouldn't mind," She spoke up with a very hushed voice.
The other six members looked at the youngest, he had a massive red blush on his face. He could've been mistaken as a tomato. He walked up to the girl who still had her head down.
"T-this is for you Jungkook o-oppa! You're m-my favourite o-out of all of y-you! Hope you like it!" She exclaimed as she held out her arms and towards the youngest and shoved the gift at him. She then gave the biggest and most beautiful smile he had ever seen. Her voice sounded so angelic in his ears and he had never knew being called oppa could sound this good.
He swore that no one else could never call him oppa except for that girl before him.
Before he could reply, the girl ran away and dispersed into the crowd. Like the four girls earlier. The youngest turned around and saw his members giving suggestive looks at him.
"Wahh, Jungkook got his own personal fan before any of us," The leader smirked.
"What is your secret!?" The eldest exclaimed as he should the youngest's shoulders, making him a bit dizzy.
The other members just gave pats on the back or gave congrats to the young member. They knew they had to work hard. The five girls they had encountered today gave them a new purpose.
This is not only for them anymore but for those girls. They'll make sure that they'll make them proud. Even if they will never see them again, their faces will forever be engraved in their minds.
As the girls who gave them hope when they thought it was lost forever.
