Chapter 42: Kiss You This Christmas

It was Christmas Eve and everyone was gathered at the Dolan household. Grayson and Raelynn were wearing matching Christmas sweaters. Gray's original hair color is coming in slowly but Raelynn really liked the blonde and was hoping she could savor it.

Raelynn was currently wearing the matching sweater with some black leggings. Her hair was down long and wavy. Grayson couldn't stop playing with it because he just loved it so much. Lisa was currently making dinner in the kitchen for everyone with her mother's help while Ethan and Maddy were having Raelynn take some pictures of them in front of the tree.

Once they finished, Grayson had Ethan take his and Raelynn's picture. For the first few Grayson was holding Raelynn's waist, her chest pushed against his. He would even be kissing her cheek, lips, or just smiling at her or the camera. For the next one, Raelynn jumped on Grayson's back but then he did the same to her. For the next few, he stood behind her with his arms around her waist. She would either hold his hands or cup his face. For the last few, Grayson and Raelynn kissed in front of the tree and under the mistletoe in the most basic pictures they have ever taken together.

Grayson sat down on the couch and since everyone had a seat on the couch already, Raelynn sat on the floor in front of Grayson. "Babe, you can sit on my lap." He said in her ear.

"No Gray it's fine. It's easier for me to get our presents this way."

Grayson smiled at her childishness and kissed her cheek before sitting back. He put his large hands on her shoulders and she rested one of her hands on his as they watched Lisa pass out the gifts from the relatives that wouldn't be there on Christmas morning.

"This is for both Grayson and Raelynn." Lisa said handing them a gift from Grayson's grandmother Bernadette.

Raelynn looked at Grayson and gave her a smile letting her know that she could open it. She pulled out the tissue paper before pulling out what Bernadette had gotten them. Bernadette had gotten them both gift cards to Barnes and Nobles and she got them a picture she had taken of Grayson and Raelynn on his birthday. She framed it already.

Raelynn ran her thumb over the picture as she saw how in love they both looked. Grayson had the happiest smile on his face and as did Raelynn. "Thank you Grandma, this is great." Grayson said while Raelynn just smiled at her new favorite picture of the two.

The night when by pretty fast until everyone had left. Grayson and Raelynn were sat in the chair. Both of them only surrounded by the light of the Christmas tree. Grayson had a tight arm around Raelynn's waist as she sat on his lap with her head on his shoulder. "It's not even Christmas yet, but so far it's going pretty damn good." Raelynn said kissing his cheek.

"It definitely has. We should go up into bed though." He said noticing how relaxed her body was becoming.

"Will you carry me up, Gray?" She asked like the adult child she is.

Grayson smiled and nodded. He picked her up bridal style, and carried her up to his room.

"GRAYSON WE'RE WAITING ON YOU GET UP!" Raelynn yelled beating him with a pillow.

"Jesus Rae, calm down."

"No Gray, I need you to open your present!" She yelled slapping his thigh for him to get up.

"I'll be down in a few minutes." He groaned.

"NOW GRAYSON BAILEY DOLAN!" She whined while tugging on his arm. He just ignored her. "Gray you will not get any." She spoke sternly when she let go of his arm.

He groaned and sat up before putting a shirt on. He rolled out of bed, looking at Raelynn from head to toe. He laughed. "Hey, don't laugh. I love my footie pajamas." She said before taking his hand and dragging him out.

They arrived downstairs and everyone gathered in the family room. Everyone was opening presents before Grayson and Raelynn got theirs. Everyone stared and watched them. Everyone knew what they got each other but those two had no idea what the other had for them.

Raelynn gave Grayson his present which was in a small bag with snowmen on it. He pulled the tissue paper out and saw his favorite candy and some passes to Firefly Festival. "Wow this is amazing, Raelynn. Thank you. I can't wait for Firefly now." He said before picking up what he had gotten her.

He handed her a bag with a big smile on his face. She pulled out a long black velvet box. She opened it to see a necklace with an infinity sign on it. She picked it up and saw that the date they got together was engraved on it. "Grayson this is gorgeous!" She exclaimed.

"That's not it."

She grabbed the other box which was also velvet but it was smaller. She opened it and inside was a ring. It had both of their birthstones in it. Zircon for December which was Grayson and Amethyst for February which was Raelynn. She gasped and examined it closer. She pulled it out and noticed there was writing on the inside. To my forever.

Raelynn was almost in tears at the beautiful gift the hopeless romantic had given her. She put the ring on and had Grayson help her with the necklace. She hugged him tightly and kissed his cheek before looking at the rings that were on her left hand.

"You literally are the most amazing guy in the world." She said smiling at Grayson.

"And you are the most amazing person in the world."

They shared a kiss before she took a selfie them both holding up their gifts from the other one. Lisa and Raelynn were starting early Christmas dinner while Sean and Grayson were in the living room picking up the tissue and wrapping paper. Maddy and Ethan were upstairs doing God knows what. "She really liked the ring and necklace." Sean said causing Grayson to smile.

"Yeah she did. I was so worried about her not liking it."

"Well I wasn't mainly because that girl loves anything having to do with you because she is so dedicated to you, Gray."

"I'm dedicated to her as well."

"I know. When are you planning on getting good spots for New Years in Times Square."

"I uh, don't have to worry about that."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, Raelynn and I will be inside with Ryan Seacrest until the ball starts to drop. Then I'm taking her on top of the building we'll be in and we'll watch the ball drop from their. Don't tell her though. She has no idea."

"I won't say anything. I'm so proud you found a girl like Raelynn who brings out the romantic side in you. Which is also the soft side."

While Grayson began blushing, Raelynn and Lisa were just finishing up with dinner. "You excited to go see the ball drop with Grayson?" She asked her.

"Oh of course. I have wanted to see the ball drop in person ever since I was a little girl. I just love that Grayson is the one making my dreams come true."
