Monday comes around and when I get to school Kara almost attacks me. She shakes me violently, mumbling incoherent sentences, "what is it?"

"Another attack," -huff- "Andy's hospital," -huff- "over weekend," she takes a deep breath in as Jason, Mya and Damon join Derek and I who are watching Kara struggling for air.

"How do you know?" Derek asked as an overwhelming sense of fear came over me. Kara straights up and puts her hands on her hips.

Derek seems to notice my uneasiness and takes my hand in his, squeezing. I smile up at him just to reassure him but I'm still worried. X seems so familiar but I can't put my finger on it and it worries me, he's been targeting people closer to my friends and family with each new murder.

There have been five murders and I've done nothing. At this point, X is labelled a serial killer now.

"I watch the news idiot," Kara snaps back, rolling her eyes, "but I knew it was X and his little gang of serial killers, my dad took me to the crime scene with him."

"He reluctantly let me see the body but after pulling off the white sheet, smack bang in the middle of this guy's chest was the 'X' surrounded by the spiral," Kara tells our little group.

Everyone looks at each other, a solemn look on everyone's face. We knew this meant that X was serious about not stopping, and that meant his threat yesterday wasn't a bluff.

"But even worse," Kara starts, "my dad was on the phone yesterday, it was a hushed and private phone call but I eavesdropped, this case is now handed over to the FBI, this is an official serial killer investigation."

My eyes widen as I look up at Derek, his face is like stone, he realises what this means. His family will have to go against the FBI to conduct their own hunt for X.

"But X just isn't some normal serial killer, he has a drive and an end goal, he's more than just your average serial killer," Kara looks across at Derek and I, then to Jason...no way...

"He's a supernatural serial killer," Jason mumbles, looking off into the distances.

An air of uneasiness falls over the group, this is more personal than I could have imagined. Not only is my family and I at risk of this psycho but my best friend, boyfriend and his best friend, and who knows how many other students.

Derek is the first to break the rising tension and silence that has consumed us for a few moments, "everyone's in danger now. Keep an eye out, be vigilant, never go somewhere alone and always let this group know where you are, I'll talk to my parents about this."

Everyone nods in unison just as the warning bell goes off, soon everyone has parted ways to first period but the sick feeling hasn't left any of us. We are now being hunted too, and I don't think X would hesitate to kill any of us.

When lunchtime finally comes around we are discussing this topic again, we are all still shaken up but keeping it together, we can't afford to fall apart at a time like this.

"Is everyone okay? Did anyone see anything?" Jason asks the table, snacking on two chocolate doughnuts and coke.

Everyone shakes their head and we go back to a silent lunch. However, as I'm looking around the cafeteria I spot a girl I recognise walking past. "Chelsea!" I call her name.

She turns around and raises a cocky eyebrow, I wave her over and the table looks confused. I beckoned her to take a seat but she stayed standing, giving a very sassy and board look.

"What?" She asks.

In the small-time Kara and Nathan dated, we learnt that he had a younger sister who was a freshman. She took her mum's last name like Nathan considering their father was never present.
