Evangeline is lying on the ground of the stone room she has been kept in, unmoving. It's been three days since she has moved from where she passed out but Tyson has rarely left the room, only to eat, sleep, and use the bathroom. He is waiting for his new prodigy to awaken.
Tyson sits in the chair, ankles crossed on top of the other, hands folded together as he observes Evangeline's motionless body. He knows she will pull through, she has to, everything he's planned out relies on her staying alive.
Suddenly, movement from her otherwise motionless body. She stirs slowly and Tyson can feel his smile rising on his face, he's done it.
Evangeline's eyes open to the harsh light yet again, except this time she has no memory of where she is or how she got her. She pushes herself onto her hands and looks around the room, trying to identify exactly where she is, however, her eyes land on Tyson who is sitting in the corner, watching.
Evangeline's flight or fight kicks in and she quickly pushes herself away from Tyson, right until her back hits the cold, stone wall. Tyson chuckles at her fear, he knew she'd act like that, considering she now had no idea who he was, but he knew she would soon come to be familiar with him, and then serve him.
Tyson pushes himself from the chair and slowly makes his way over to Evangeline. She looks up at him cautiously, afraid of what this strange man could want with her, but why didn't she remember who he was? She thought, he seemed so familiar yet she couldn't put her finger on it.
Tyson extends his hand down to her, watching his frightened granddaughter. He watches as she slowly places her small hand in his, and is almost thrown into shock when he pulls her to her feet.
Evangeline stands there, not sure how to react. This man doesn't seem dangerous but what if he's the reason she's here, and why she can't remember anything beyond waking up here.
"Water?" Tyson asks, pulling a water bottle from just under his chair, he had been saving it for her, but he knows what she truly desires right now.
Evangeline shakes her head, for some reason, the thought of water repulses her right now. Her throat itches and feels dry and coarse, her stomach growls but not for food, no, she can smell the pumping of blood just outside the door, it makes her hungry.
Tyson can sense that Evangeline knows that two humans are standing outside and he smirks to himself, turning to the door then back to her. He takes a seat again and watches Evangeline eye the door, ready to pounce.
"I tell you what love," Tyson's voice catches Evangeline's attention and she looks at him, "I'll tell you why you can't remember anything and who you are, and in exchange, I'll let you eat."
This makes Evangeline intrigued. She'll get to eat and know who she is, and why she is here. She turns to face Tyson completely and he smiles, he knew she'd jump at the idea, he made sure of it.
"You're my granddaughter dear one," he starts.
Evangeline's mouth runs dry, he's her family? It all makes sense though, memories start to flood her mind. Of her sitting next to him during meetings, him raising her since she was a baby, her parents dying in a terrible fire years ago, it all makes sense.
"Ah, so you remember?" He questions her, leaning forward in his seat. Evangeline nods, staring at the door once again, "then allow me to fill in the blanks a bit child."
Evangeline looks back at Tyson, curiosity pricking in her mind. If what this man says is true then he must know all of it.
But Tyson knows he's feeding her lies, of course he is, he had to make sure she trusted him with her life so he planted fake memories inside her head. He had her under his complete control and she was blissfully unaware, ideal for creating the perfect weapon.
"A few days ago, we were involved in a bit of a dispute with some people. You were knocked unconscious and as a result, amnesia happened, I saved what of your memory I could but some parts might be cloudy," Tyson explains to her, lying right through his teeth, but she seems to believe him.
Evangeline nods at this newfound information, it makes sense. Her memory is a bit hazy and she can remember small details, like Tyson and her going to this dispute, her getting ready that morning, it should come back to her but for now she will have to wait.
"Now, as I promised," Tyson smiles, standing up.
He walks over to the door and opens it, the two people outside are allowed in before the door shuts again. The itching feeling in Evangeline's throat grows and her mouth begins to water dreadfully, but she waits for Tyson to give the all-clear.
"Now Ethan," Tyson clamps a hand down onto Ethan Black's shoulder.
Ethan looks to Ismey, who is just as terrified as he is. They were told to come to this room every day and wait outside until let in, and now that they see that Evangeline has awoken they both fear the worst.
"My granddaughter here is starving, care to give her something to eat," Tyson wickedly smiles down at Ethan who gulps visibly.
Tyson made this partnership with Ethan back in the late nineties, only then did they reunite again in 2014 when Ethan came to him seeking help. Tyson knew this was his chance to get back at his son and now wife for their wrongdoings almost twenty years ago.
So Tyson played the long game for four long years, staying behind the scene but always pulling the strings until he dictated that Ethan start executing his plan a few months ago. He never meant to keep Ethan around after he had got his granddaughter, in fact, now that Ethan is standing here, trembling underneath his hold, it makes waiting so much sweeter.
Ethan looks up at Tyson, who has loosened his grip. Ethan turns and makes a run for it, pushing Ismey forward but is too late. Tyson has grabbed him using his Shadow abilities and flung him towards Evangeline, he stares up at her, paralysed by fear.
Evangeline smiles while looking down at this man, she doesn't know who he is but she has a strange feeling that this kill is worth it. Evangeline's fangs grow out and her eyes switch to a bright blood red, she was going to savour every moment of draining Ethan Black of his life.
Tyson watches on smugly as his granddaughter kneels to meet Ethan, drooling practically dripping from her mouth. He smiles brightly as he listens to the screams coming from Ethan mixes with Evangeline's animalistic growls and the squelching of blood.
He would have to wait, train her to become the perfect weapon, but it wouldn't take long. Within a few months, Tyson knew he could destroy his son and everyone around him, all while using their daughter against them.
Perfect.
