It's the Monday after the Friday night incident and first period, Jason kept trying to talk to me but I wasn't in the mood, Derek watched on silently. We got into a fight over the weekend, he called me up trying to apologise for Friday but I told him not to talk to me unless he had made up his mind.

It was a bit rude but I couldn't spend my days playing games with him.

When the bell finally goes I quickly leave the classroom but Derek catches up to me. "Evangeline!" He calls after me but I walk away from him, rolling my eyes.

I turn to face him while still walking away from him as he speed walks around students. "What did I tell you? Don't talk to me until you've made your decision so, unless it's that, go away," I tell him, turning back around, fists clenching and unclenching at my side.

Before I get too far, Derek grabs my hand and turns me to face him, his eyes pleading. I almost break out in a smile as I look at him, I did miss the feeling of his hand in mine and just talking to him, I resist the urge though.

"Please give me a chance to get to know you again, better this time," he begs me, holding both my hands and slowly stroking them with his thumbs. "After that night, three years ago, I felt like we became strangers, please don't leave me again," he whispers the last part, his bottom lip wobbling slightly.

"Fine-" his face breaks out into a beaming smile- "last chance," I tell him, smiling as I point my finger in his face.

"Thank you," he mumbles, kissing me on the cheek then pulling me into a tight hug.

At first, I'm taken aback by his reaction but I slowly warm up to the hug and wrap my arms around his waist, burying my face in his chest, smiling widely. I hear and feel him chuckle at my reaction so I lightly hit him on the back but laugh as well.

"Lightwood!" A voice shouts at the end of the hallway, "what did I tell you?"

We pull away from each other and I turn to see a furious Liam shoving his way past the student in the hallway, they give him dirty looks but Liam doesn't seem to care as he's determined to get to us.

"Evangeline, back up!-" Liam shoves me out of the way as Derek backs away from him- "I'm going to show this asshole not mess with me again!" He shouts, pulling his fist back to punch Derek but I quickly stand between them, keeping Liam an arm's length away.

"Liam!" I yell in his face making him look at me. "Stop this," I say, purposely looking him in the eye. He can't just walk around punching people to get his way, especially when it comes to my life. He is not my father nor mother.

His eyes go purple then back to blue and he lowers his fist, backing away. "You can't do that to me," Liam mutters, his face still filled with rage, "why are you defending him? Even after what happened three years go?" He huffs, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Maybe, just maybe, I'm over it and don't blame them anymore. It was three years ago, get over it Liam," I tell him off, clenching my fists. The hallways have almost completely emptied now as the bell for next period is close to ringing.

"I have class," I mumble, waving goodbye to Derek who smiles, walking the opposite way.

I walked into my AP History class, a sour expression on my face. I sit at my desk that's next to Jason, I feel Kara rub my back from behind me and Jason telling me 'it's going to be okay', Mya tells them to shut up which makes Jason and Kara laugh.

Lunchtime eventually rolls around and everything has gone well in class so far and at break. I didn't run into Liam thankfully and I haven't seen Derek so far, which is probably for the best.
