After what Mya, Derek and I found yesterday the principal has closed off the field until further notice, two students have died in within the span of a week. Four in total, a serial killer is now at large and my friends don't seem to be concerned, we need to do something about X and his yellow sidekick.
And for the love of Satan, X killed his own son, as much as I hated Nathan nobody deserves to be murdered. His death was ruled a suicide by authorities but everyone's thinking the same thing, it was a brutal murder. I did stash the note in my pocket and took it home, this note was directed at us and I don't think people needed to know that.
'He disobeyed us. My own son. Now he's dead. Next, it's you'
The note is still in my head, I see it everywhere I go. It's almost as if I have to remind myself it happened. X killed his son.
I laid in my bed that night staring at the ceiling, thinking about everything that's occurred these past two weeks. Exactly a week after we saw some random person get killed a student gets killed, then only four days later Nathan shows up dead. We have to do something. Anything. We need to save people. We need to stop X before he murders more innocents.
I super-speed across my room and grab my phone off my desk and text the group chat. Jason insisted we created an Instagram group chat that he called 'Freak Squad'. I tell them all to meet me on the Santa Monica beach, close to where Crystal's funeral will be held.
"Dad! I'm heading out!" I yell as I walk past his office, throwing on a jacket.
His door opens and he calls my name, making me stop at the top of the stairs. "Evangeline, tonight is our sleep night, where are you going?" He asked arms crossed over his chest.
"I'll be back by one to get my sleep, promise," I tell him smiling. He rolls his eyes at me but turns around and walks to his bedroom.
I super speed down the stairs and out the door, quickly making my way down to the beach. I get there and wait about half an hour before everyone shows up. "What is it, Evangeline?" Mya asks, rubbing her eyes.
"It's eleven o'clock, this better be good," Damon yawns, sitting down in the sand.
"You see where we are?-" They all nod slowly- "just across the street is where Crystal's funeral be held Saturday," I explain to them but they all look at me with unamused expressions.
"Do you guys not see!? An innocent student, a defenceless human died at the hands of these people! Murderers! And you guys are pretending nothing happened!" I shout at them. "Then yesterday, Nathan was strung up to a tree by his own father! His father! Do you not see we're next!? He threatened all of us! All of us..." I trailed off.
Most of them look at me in shock but saying nothing, I roll my eyes and turn around storming off down the beach towards the water. We are in danger and they can't seem to see it.
"She's right," I hear Damon say from up on the beach, his footsteps echo in the sand before he appears at my side, an encouraging smile on his face.
I hear more footsteps make their way towards me and Kara shows up at my side. "We're sorry," she apologises, putting her arm around my shoulder and pulling me close.
The waves lightly crash over our feet, the cold over the ocean feels like it's sweeping over my problems as the waves pull back out to sea. I inhale deeply enjoying the ocean breeze and the cool water.
Suddenly Kara is no longer standing at my side as I watch her run, fully clothed into the ocean. What the Hell is she doing? She dives under the water and I don't wait a moment before I pull off my jacket and shirt, running in after her.
