"Catherine, will you be my Girlfriend?"
I was so shocked at this question that I was standing frozen with my mouth wide open.
"Ey yo Rine! Whats your answer?" Red yelled in a poor Boston accent.
"My answer, is.... Yes!" I screamed.
Max came in for a hug and a kiss and I let him. This was the best day of my life. The crowd was cheering so loud that they told us the panel next door couldn't hear anything. The panel ended and we met back stage. I didn't leave Max's side until we got back to the hotel. Everyone told us congratulations and we went to bed. I fell asleep next to Max in his hotel bed.
The Next Day
It was our last day at Pax and they called for a suprise panel. (Everytime I say 'they' I'm referring to the people in charge) It was a smaller room, only about a hundred or so seats. It was just a gaming panel with a game-related q and a at the end.
About half an hour later, I looked out into the crowd, and what I saw made me sick. My father and Zach were siting in the back. We made eye contact and I felt sick to my stomach.
"I need to go take a break for a while." I said as I walked back stage, my hands on my head and stomach. Max followed shortly after. "Rine what's wrong?!?" He asked frantically. I broke into an anxiety attack. I held onto Nugget and sobbed into his fur. Max hugged me, on the floor. "Catherine, focus on my voice." He said softly. I nodded. "You need to calm down for a few minutes and tell me what you saw. Deep breaths." I did as he said and hugged him tighter."M-my f-father and Z-zach were there. T-they looked up t-to n-no good." I began to cry even more.
"Shhh... Its okay... They can't hurt you anymore... Not with me around."
"P-promise?" I looked up at him.
"Promise."
