You heard the creaking of the springs on your cheap bed as Lena got up once again at a stupidly early time. You rolled over and gave her a funny look, waiting for her to turn on the light and notice you. She'd bought you curtains so that light didn't pour into your room, making you wake up hours before it was even necessary. She flipped on the lamp and glanced down at you, jumping slightly when you glared at her.

"I didn't mean to wake you up, I'm sorry." Lena said and you shrugged, sitting up. "I wanted to get to the office early so I could stop back during my lunch and eat with you."

"Don't even go to work today, just stay home and enjoy your youth while you still can." You said and Lena shook her head. "You're only going to be young once and I can't let you throw it away because you're overworking yourself."

"Today." Lena said and you smiled. "But I'm doing an overnight shift tomorrow."

"I don't know if I'm okay with that, but we'll talk tomorrow morning." You said and Lena gave you a look. "First we're going to get a couple of cups of coffee and then we're driving around a bit."

"Babe, I can drive around whenever." Lena said and you jumped out of bed and ran into the kitchen before coming back two minutes later with the bottles of Starbucks you'd bought from a gas station a few nights ago. "Breakfast?"

"I was going to take you out, but we should pack snacks." You said, grabbing a backpack and running back to the kitchen, this time Lena following you. You opened up your pantry and looked at the absence of food.

"I need to take you grocery shopping again." Lena said and you glanced at her briefly before grabbing your wallet and car keys. "Backpack."

"I've got one with me." You said and Lena followed you out. "The fun of being our age is that many of us have already given up, so it doesn't matter if we go out looking like actual trash fires."

"I'd prefer to not be wearing this, but whatever." Lena said and you looked at her in the parking lot. She had on a pair of your pajama pants, pterodactyls decorating her legs, a pair of slip on Vans you bought her with your last paycheck, and a Metropolis University hoodie you'd stolen from an old friend.

"You look great, hot, beautiful." You said and Lena got into your car. You drove about an hour and a half out of National City to your hometown, sat down at a diner, quickly ate breakfast, and then left for the grocery store. You bought the unhealthiest snacks, but promised Lena you'd do a cleanse with her sometime before driving towards the edge of the woods, grabbing your snacks, the knifes and swords you kept in the trunk of your car, and then began to venture into the woods.

"I have so many questions for you." Lena said and you glanced back at her. "Why do you carrying swords in the trunk of your car? Why are we in these creepy woods? When can we leave these creepy woods?"

"I feel I need protection, but I don't like guns. This is what I did when I was a teenager. Oh and the woods aren't bad if you have protection, which reminds me to hand you this." You said, pulling out a knife and handing it to Lena.

"I just realized that I don't know all that much about you." Lena said and you shrugged.

"This is a learning experience." You said and Lena nodded. The two of you spent the day hiking towards a hot spring where you relaxed at until you decided to get to your camping stash you'd left here years ago. You set up a tent and started a fire before getting out your snacks and then joining Lena once more in the hot spring. "Have fun?"

"Is this what you did when you were younger?" Lena asked and you nodded. "Seems fun, to have enough freedom to be able to do this. I guess Lillian never really let me be young."

"Well, you're lucky that you've essentially gotten a child as a girlfriend." You said and Lena smiled at you.
