Chapter 9. The Love between a Girl and a Boy

Melissa's point of view

I knocked on Anna’s door after I got my clothes and valuable possessions from my old home. Anna opened the door and smiled from seeing her best friend, which I am. She hugged me really tightly and let go of me.

She smiled and asked, “So, Harry is leaving tonight, Melissa?”

I nodded while I was saying, “Yeah, but I’ll miss him very much.”

She looked at my bags and asked, “Why do you have your bags with you?”

I looked down at my pink converses that Harry bought for me as a present as I whispered, “May I come in, Anna? I need to tell you something.”

Anna gave me a confused expression on her face as she said, "Come on! Tell me, Melissa! The suspense is killing me!"

I felt a tear falling down my face as I was whispering, "I'm pregnant, Anna."

Anna laughed while she was saying, "Come on, Melissa. Tell me the truth."

I sat on the couch and started crying while I was saying, "I am telling you the truth, Anna."

Anna's eyes widen as she said, "Oh my gosh! You're pregnant, Melissa! Who are you pregnant with?”

I looked at everything else except Anna's eyes as I said, "Harry is the father of my baby."

Anna yelled, "I told you! But you told me, 'We are just dating, and it was just a mistake! And it won't happen again!'!"

I placed my hands over my face as I was crying, "We couldn't help it! I know it was wrong, but he and I were caught up in the moment!"

Anna sat next to me and held me as she said, "I'm sorry! I never thought I would be saying this during our junior year in high school, but congratulation on the baby."

I smiled and said, "Thank you, Anna. I don't know what I am going to do."

"Hey, whatever you do, I will always be your best friend, Melissa."

"Thank you, but do you think that I should have an abortion?"

"No, please don't do that, Melissa. You always can put the baby up for adoption."

"You're right, but I feel like I am going to grow attract to my baby."

"Even you keep the baby and raise him or her, or place him or her, I will be with you for every step, because you are my best friend since the first grade."

"Thanks, Anna."

Harry's point of view

Liam asked, "How could you not use protection, Harry?"

I looked at of the window as I said, "I was in the moment, and I just forgot to put on a condom. Wait a minute! I did had a condom on."

Liam scratch his head as he asked, "Then why is Melissa saying she is pregnant with your baby?"

I said, "No, the condom broke during sex. Oh crap!"

Niall came in and asked, "Oh crap, what?"

I looked at Niall and then at the window as I answered, "Something went wrong during sex with Melissa."

"Oh! Now that is bad, Harry!'

I ran my fingers through my hair as I said, "I know!"

I got off the bed and started packing, and I could think of was Melissa and the baby. I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in!"

"Hey, Harry!"

"Hey, Louis." I said as I zipped up my last suitcase and placed it on the bed.

"So, Melissa is pregnant?"

"Yeah."

"Well, I'm going to be honest. I really don't like Melissa."

"Why not? She's beautiful, smart-"

"If she was smart then she wouldn't be pregnant."

I looked at Louis with anger in my eyes as I said, "What the bloody hell do you mean 'If she was smart, then she wouldn't be pregnant'?"

"I mean she is a high school student, and she is seventeen! I am pretty sure it is illegal in this country! She should have known about the saying no!"

"Are you saying that I force myself on her!?!"

"No! All I am saying this is bad for you and Melissa!"

"Why!?!"

"Because you have a career on the line because of the pregnancy, and Melissa has goals that she wants accomplished, but now she is pregnant with your baby, so she has to put the goals on paused because of the baby!"

"So what? I love her and our unborn child, Louis! Don't you get that!?!"

"Yes, I do, Harry! But you have to realize that this will affect you and Melissa in a bad way somehow. Maybe not when your daughter or son is a baby or maybe not when she or he is a kid, but it will affect you and Melissa in a bad way. I'll be in the lobby when you're done. And before I leave, has Melissa consider an abortion?"

"What the actual fuck is wrong with you, Louis? You know she would never consider that!"

"Maybe if she does consider it, all she have to worry about is finishing her junior and senior year of high school and go to an Ivy league college. And become an accountant like she told us about."

"Or maybe this pregnancy can go away, and I have don't to worry about having a child at nineteen or twenty. I am pretty sure that is what you want to happen, Louis! Did you even put in consideration that she is a Christian!?!"

"Well, it wasn't Christian like of her to have sex with when she is not even married to you."

"We made a mistake, and she would feel very guilty if she had an abortion, Louis! Just go to the lobby with the lads and wait for me." I said as I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration.

"Whatever, but I am still saying that this will affect you and Melissa in a bad way." Louis  said as he walked out of the room; leaving me with his words running through my mind.
