Chapter 6
Sapphire looked around, taking heed of how empty the area was. No object was near her, she couldn't see a thing. Sapphire couldn't sense anything else other than her fear.
Sapphire started to walk, each step becoming heavier. She was walking, yet she didn't know where to go. All around her was the darkness, pure yet bleak.
Sapphire felt something latch onto her ankles, the sound of metal clanging together as she continued to tread. Though uncomfortable, Sapphire still continued her steps, searching for a ray of light.
A small tug of the chain prompted a disturbing sound of metal to occur. Sapphire looked down, eyes widening as she saw how her feet were submerged into the black abyss. Strings of black wrapped around her pale legs, giving her a sting as it pulled her down ever so slowly.
Sapphire reached down to rip the strings away, it was unsettling. Immense panic begun to rise in her head the moment such tightened its thorny grip. Sapphire pursed her lips as her legs lost color, circulation of blood cut off due to the abyss.
Sapphire lost her legs to the dark void. She clenched her jaw and endured the torture it had bestowed upon her with its grip of steel.
Hearing her bones crack was what she apprehended next.
Sapphire screamed, stumbling down as her body felt like it was set ablaze. She faced the dark, slowly being swallowed by emptiness.
Pale arms reached and gripped on Sapphire's neck, choking her with all its might as tear after tear ran down Sapphire's temples.
Countless eyes bore holes on her back as she struggled. Sapphire was the inferior, her body threatening to go limp due to the attacker's assault.
Crimson smoke begun to swirl around Sapphire's delicate body before violently penetrating the valley of her breasts. Sapphire was wheezing in pain as her chest tightened. More tears fled from her eyes, descending the dark abyss.
The hands choking her finally let go, along with the iron grip that once trapped her legs. They yet again became one with darkness surrounding Sapphire. She felt relief, but the torment of agony still dominated in her.
The next thing Sapphire knew, she fell into the void. She forgot how to breathe, her body going limp. The cold air worked against her, hitting her back with small yet penetrating bites.
A large lifeless hand extended from the above, long nails reaching out. Sapphire's eyes widened in horror, her face losing its rosy tint.
The hand lacked life, it felt like it was reaching for her from the dead.
It was coming for her, Sapphire screamed yet no sound was released. Her voice was stuck in her throat, suppressing her from expressing her fear.
Sapphire blinked, the pale hand she had once seen were replaced by a cream-colored ceiling. She blinked once again, realizing that all of it was a dream.
It felt so real, the immense pain and the unfathomable suffering.
Sapphire's hands trembled as she wiped her tears. She held onto her neck, remembering how those slender fingers latched onto her skin, how much trauma it inflicted.
Why me? Sapphire thought. She couldn't endure such mental pain, forever traumatized.
"Were you crying?" A familiar voice interfered Sapphire's thoughts.
Sapphire sat up, meeting her eyes as she settled on a sleek sofa. The princess shook her head briefly, wiping her face from any stray teardrops.
"If you say so." Cyres shrugged.
