Again, if calling people names counts as swearing then there's mild swearing in this one as well.
You're in an elevator in a big hotel. You're not really sure why you're taking the elevator since you don't even have a room in this hotel. You simply wouldn't be able to afford it. After all you're just a 17 year old child with no job. But the employees at the hotel didn't say anything to you so you just had fun riding the elevator up and down. You enjoyed watching the different kinds of people that would use the elevator and where they would get off.
You were on the 8th floor when the elevator began descending to the main floor. When it got down to the lobby and the doors opened you saw a bunch of soldiers heading up the stairs. Before your brain could process the weird new information you just received a bunch of soldiers ran into the elevator to you.
They didn't seem to care that you were there. Or maybe they just hadn't noticed you. You didn't know and honestly you didn't really care. It was more exciting to see the soldiers compared to the other more "normal" guests in this hotel, but you didn't know what to say to the soldiers. With the other guests you always had the opportunity to strike up a conversation with them if you wanted to.
They were silent all the way to the top. They got off on the 13th floor. The very top floor. Since you never pressed any of the buttons in the elevator you just waited for someone else to call the elevator down to them. While waiting you always used your phone to make time go faster. You sat in the elevator for a long time and after an hour you thought that it was weird that no one had used the elevator. You still hadn't heard a word from your mom.
She was supposed to text or call when she wanted you to come back to your meeting place in the park. She was attending a meeting downtown and didn't know when she would be done. Suddenly the elevator door opens again. You thought it was a bit strange since you were still on the same floor, but whatever. It was probably just the soldiers that were going back down again.
You were right in one thing. It was the soldiers again, but something was very wrong. They were all covered in blood and had fear written all over their faces. Some of them were even injured. When the last guy got in one of them were rapidly pushing the "close" button to make the doors close faster. The doors very agonizingly slow to close. Suddenly they changed direction and began opening again.
You saw the soldiers panic. Their arms were flailing in the air and they were yelling at the guy that was pushing the button. Some of them pushed him away from the buttons and began pushing the "close" button frantically, trying to close the doors again. You still had no idea why they were so scared. Just before the doors were fully closed two guns came in between and prevented the doors from closing.
You felt panic rise on the inside. You suddenly knew why they were scared, but then again... They were trained soldiers. Shouldn't they be less scared than you? Maybe, but that wasn't the case this time. They seemed to be more scared than you, but of course they had also seen some things that you hadn't. Maybe the person they had been confronting really just was that scary.
You saw the doors slowly being forced open again, and the terror in the soldiers eyes were becoming more and more clear. They really were afraid of this guy. But why? Who was he? As the door opened you slowly sat down on the floor with your legs tugged in close to you. Now the doors were fully open, but you still couldn't see the guy due to the angle you were sitting.
Your back were against the corner on the right side of the elevator doors. Most people couldn't see you before they were in the elevator. Same goes for the scary guy that the soldiers were afraid of. He only saw the soldiers right in front of the door. Exactly seven shots were fired from the outsider, and approximately 300 from the soldiers.
The soldiers shot first, but somehow the outsider still managed to shoot all seven soldiers. They all fell to the ground. One of them almost landed on top of you, but he got stuck just above your head, instead. His feet were stuck under another guys body and the upper body was covering you while the legs were stretched out so he couldn't fall. Unless someone snapped his legs and made him fall further, you were completely covered right now.
You could see the middle of the elevator through the dead guys legs. You saw a pair of black boots step into the elevator. The guy was about to press on the button to the main floor when a sound was heard. Your mom just texted you information on when to meet. Due to the volume being on you both heard the phone.
Your heart started beating faster and you felt fear rise inside of you, more than it already had. You saw the boots turn towards you. Suddenly the body that was covering you was removed and a gun was pointed at you. Your body flinched into a position that felt like you were safer, even though you were well aware that it wasn't, and you became even smaller than you already were. At least it felt that way.
You didn't want to cry. Your body was tense and wanted to cry and scream and beg, but you wouldn't let it. You wanted to be strong, so you used all of your strength to remain as calm as possible. It was hard, and a few sobs escaped your lips. Your eyes were teary but you didn't cry. Not a single drop of water left your eyes.
You heard him reload his gun and cock it again. You felt the cold metal against your skin. It was pressed tightly against your temple. "Please." You whisper in a weak attempt to stop him. You weren't even sure that he heard you but you had no other alternatives. It was either asking him not to or giving in and accepting death. And no matter how hard you tried your brain wouldn't accept the fact that you were so close to death right now.
"Please don't do it, master. It's just a kid, and they've done nothing to stop you from your main objective or hurt you." A female voice was trying to reason with the man, but he didn't listen. "I don't care. They're in my way, so unless you wanna get a bite I'm gonna kill the little brat!" His words made your body freeze completely. You were only able to slightly move your head to look at him.
He had hair darker than the darkest night. He wore a big red hat and jacket. Underneath he wore a black shirt, black pants and black boots. He seemed to enjoy this despite his rather annoyed tone. He had a giant smile on his face as he saw all the death he had caused in such a small space, and he seemed to enjoy killing. He was more than happy to pull the trigger against you, or, as he said, "get a bite" whatever that meant?
When you saw his face you understood what was going on. You finally figured out why the soldiers had been so scarred of this guy. Why their bullets had done nothing to him. And what he meant by "getting a bite". He meant it quite literally. As he was flashing his teeth in a big smile you saw that two of his teeth were much longer and sharper than the rest.
A vampire?!? No, that can't be. They don't exist. You tried being rational but you couldn't come up with any other solution that would make any more sense. The vampire turns his attention back to you. He licks his lips before kneeling down to your level. He's looking you deep in the eyes. For a moment you could swear that you saw something good in them, but it would soon prove to be wrong.
He flashed another grin and slowly moved closer to you. As he got closer to your face he slowly opened his mouth. You tried to embrace the upcoming pain but your brain wouldn't let you. The vampire bit deeply into your neck, and you slowly felt your blood being drained from your body. He didn't take all of it though. He let you keep enough to stay conscious. He then backed away and got on his feet again He removed a bit of blood that was left on his left chin. He then cocked his gun and shot you before you could get to react.
