Jack
We pulled away again. "That was...amazing." I said. "Yeah." He agreed. He pulled me into a hug and I wrapped my arms around him. "Thank you for tonight Mark." My voice was a little muffled against his chest. "Of course Jackaboy. We'll have to do it again sometime." His chest vibrated with his deep voice. "Yeah, we really do." I smiled. He hummed and rocked back and forth a little bit. "Now, how about we finish this drink and play a few more games before we have to go. By the way, what time do I need you home?" He asked. "My mom said ten." I told him taking my seat. "Okay." As soon as he sat down my phone buzzed in my pocket.
Omg. Date him.
Or your grounded.
Are you being serious?
Maybe. But you'll never know.
Why do you have to be so mysterious?
Because I'm your mother.
Fair point. Need anything else?
Ooo~
Mom no.
Jack yes.
See if you can stay the night.
Why?
Because I want you two to get to know each other...
and I got invited to a dinner with my boss and you don't have a set of house keys and I'm leaving now.
Urgh. Fine. I'll ask him.
I turned off my phone and looked at Mark. I took a deep breath and started to speak. "Do you-" "Do you- Oh, um. You go first." He said. "No. please, you first." I said. "I was gonna see if you could maybe stay the night?" He asked. I cracked up. He looked confused. "My mom just asked me to see if I could. She has to go to dinner with her boss." I said. "Really? My mom just said she was going to dinner with a couple of her employee's." He said. I pulled out my phone and texted my mom again.
What is your bosses last name?
Fischbach, why?
"Mark, what is your last name?" I asked. "Fischbach." He said. I smiled. "Holy crap. Your mom is my mom's boss." I said.
That's Mark's mom.
Nice! So when I'm on a business trip, you can go stay with them. She was happy to know that I had a son that was around the same age as her son.
She'll be even happier knowing that you're coming over.
I put my phone away again and looked up at Mark, who was drinking more of the milkshake. "So, shall we play a few more games and then head to your place?" I asked. Mark nodded, still drinking. I shook my head and leaned forward and started drinking some of it too. Our eyes met again and we kept drinking, just admiring each other. Well, I was admiring him at least. Once we finished he and I ran off to play more games. I killed it in skeeball and Mark was the champion in DDR. Obviously I had to let him win. I mean, I can dance decently well, but I couldn't let anyone else know that. Not even Mark.
Not yet at least.
We walked out hand in hand, laughing. "Hey, will you sing something for me?" He asked. I thought of a song that I could sing for him. "Okay." I hummed the tune. "I'll tell the world, I'll sing a song It's a better place since you came along..."
When I finished the song Mark's jaw was practically on the ground. "That was beautiful." He said. I bit my lip and stared at the ground. "Thanks." He wrapped an arm around my shoulder and we walked to his house. He pulled out a set of keys and held the door open for me. "My dad is probably asleep, come on." He shut the door and led me upstairs to his bedroom. He and I both collapsed on his bed after he closed the door. "I had a lot of fun tonight." I rolled onto my side and faced him. "I'm glad you did." He pulled me close to him and rubbed my back slightly. I rested my head on his chest and smiled. I can't believe we kissed. I bit my lip and blushed at the memory of his soft, warm lips on mine.
"You wanna watch a movie?" He asked. "Yeah." I said. We sat up and he sadly pulled away from me. He turned on his T.V. and dug through a shelf full of movies. "What kind of movie do you want to watch? we have Fantasy, Action, Drama, Romance, Horror." He said. My eyes lit up when he said horror. He noticed and smiled. "Horror it is then." He laughed. I giggled as he put in a movie and literally flung himself onto the bed next to me. He bounced a little bit and leaned towards the edge. "Oh shit!" He yelled falling off the bed with a thud. I burst into laughter and fell back on the bed clutching my stomach. I crawled over to where he'd fallen off and poked my head over the edge. He had his arm over his red face. I smiled and leaned down, pressing my lips to his. He smiled and kissed back. When we pulled away he had a huge smile on his face. I felt my face turn red as well and crawled back onto the bed.
He climbed back on and pulled me close to him. "Hey Jack?" He said. "Hm?" I looked up at him. "What are we?" he asked. "We can be whatever you want to be Markimoo." I said. "Well, can we be together then?" He asked nervously. I smiled and kissed him again. "Of course we can." We snuggled up and watched to movie together. This was the happiest I'd been in a long time. I wanted it to stay that way. But I had no idea how long I could keep it a secret from him.
I thought about it and figured I would show him on Friday since we didn't have school on that day. Maybe I could somehow get us into the dance studio or invite him to my house. I sighed and buried my head in his chest. When the movie ended he turned off the lights and we crawled under the blankets. "Goodnight Jackaboy. I love you." He pressed a kiss to the top of my head. "Goodnight Markimoo. I love you too." I kissed his cheek and wrapped my arms around him. He rubbed my back softly as we drifted into sleep. Please. Let him be okay with me being the way I am.
